Grow JournalReceived clones in this gel stuff. They had to be kept really hydrated, and the tops would start to really dry up. They stayed in the rockwool/gel for 4 days. One of the clones died from the ordeal, and that was replaced when it was time to transplant. They were then transplanted on 10/20, which is where the narrative picks up from, though all the pictures were taken 10/26.10/20Transplanted 6 clones into 5 gallon buckets filled with Canna Coco. Lit by a 4’- 4 bulb,-216 W Pioneer T5 unit. On the right side there is a 125 W CFL which provides additional light, and a fan to circulate air. I also plan on this light taking care of clones, when I extend that shelf the plants are on. I am using Canna Coco’s nutrients as well: Canna A + B, Rhizotonic, and Super Thrive B 1.I am using Canna Coco’s nutrients as well: Canna A + B, Rhizotonic, and SuperThrive B1.

I first watered/fed them after three days, but I have now switched to every other day, and I am also foliar spraying the leaves once per day with a b1 solution. The first few days I let the coco get to alkaline as well, I was leaving it in the mid 6s, but I have read that I have to treat Canna Coco as a hydroponic system, and keep the medium more acidic, so I am maintaining it at 5.8-5.9 now. The plants are really snapping back. The strain is Grape Ape, the number is 6, and here are the pics, there's an arial and side shot for each one:

There are also a couple of pics of the flower roon I have set up. I constructed a temporary closed environment for the plants using poly, 1x3 ferring strip, 2 ½ inch screws/wing anchors and duct tape. The dimensions are 5’x6’x8’. There is a zipper door and it is light tight except for the faintest indication of the zipper. I plan on using a 6” 248 cfm, inline can fan, with a corresponding can filter, and eventually, a Big Blue inline UV ozonator, that claims to handle up to 260 cfm. There will be two air cooled 400 W HPS, and the ozonator will be located between the second light and the window exhaust. I will have to be crafty with how I lay out the air system with such limited ceiling space.

you should have mixed some perlite w your coco for drainage... 60/40 70/30...works great..6 is great 4 ape VV

Thanks. I'm pretty sure you don't have to mix perlite for Canna coco. It drains beautifully. Right now I am feeding every other day, and I mix up like 1 1/2 gallons for the 6, (they are in 5 gallon pots). It always drains out the bottom, and the canna does not compact, and dry out, like soil. My medium is always moist all the way around, but always airy as well. I think the plants are coming along really nicely, but I welcome any and all comments. This is my first grow, though I have some good consultants. New pics will be next week.
