my grow box plan (small scale)

Im thinking im a little ahead of myself right about now, ive been vegging for 4 weeks now and i dont have my flowering box ready.

My veg chamber is a tote with only 4 23w cfl's. Total of 6 plants vegging, only one is a clone. (so i only have one female for sure) the other 5 are northern lights seeds, im hoping to get 2 females of the NL strain. I also have 4 UK cheese germinating. hopefully i get 2 other females from them . that puts me at 5, wishful thinking, females.

For my flowering box im going to use my 250W HPS ( will upgrade to 400w next grow) . In it i want to grow 4 or 5 plants in 3 gal pots. Im unsure about lighting though... I have done some reading as to how much lighting to use and the general consesus seems to be either 10,000 lumens/sqft or 50 watts a sqft.

If i do 50 watt/sqft with my 250 watt hps i can do 5sqft box,

If i use the same box with a 250watt 29,000 lumen light I will only get 5800/sqft.

I could order a 33,000 lumen bulb and use 6 23watt cfls, 1600 lumens each, that can put me at 42,600 lumens. 42600/5sqft = 8,520 lums/sqft. Still not 10,000 lums as i would like but a lot closer. What do you guys think is the best method?

Will start flowering in 2 weeks. hope i dont screw this up.

Thanks in advance,
MF
