these are the materials i am using in my grow:
-aerogarden 3 (target)
-4 cfls (28 watt daylight [for veg]) and plan on gettin more (lowes)
-air stone w/ air pump +tubing (petco)
- fig 8 cord (radio shck)
- more mylar than i need (dollar store)
- 24 hour timer (radio shack)
- surge protector power strip (lowes)
-ph test kit w/ up and down (petco)
i used some recepticle to socket converters for my cfl. ill take some pics of my gro space when i get a chance. i know i should get some y splitters, but lowes was outta stock, and ima hit them up again soon. my ph test kit only tests as low as 6.0, willl that be good enough?i know it should go to 5.5, but thats the best i could get. any comments, questions, concerns, and critisisms are always welcome.
those AG 3's are pretty small aren't they? gonna be fillin it up alot
yes i plans on get a few more AGs after this experimental grow. but i realized that the ratio of res size to number of plants is best in the ag3 imo

Yea, thats true, haha didnt think of that

sounds good tho, havnt seen one done in the AG 3, im excited to how it turns out, good lucc ma, keep us updated

alright, so i was strollin by my garden today and took a few pics, and a few questions to go along with it. the first 3 pics are of my grow space, not much, but the best i can get away with. dont worry, ill move the bulbs i lil as soon as i use em. i got a few questions bout my seeds tho.

1) the original napkins i had em in were kinda cold. will this hurt them? i moved them into a warmer cloth after
2)should there be water in there besides the damp paper towels?
3) how long should they take to germ?

yea you want just room temp water. just put in a dark cool place, i usually use a zip locc bag, and place in my drawers or somthing, takes me no more then 3 days

theyve been germing for 48 hours and not even a crack, when u said 3 days to germ, did u mean until they crack open, or until they are ready ready for transplant. and i switched em over to a ziplock btw

I usually use a shot glass and leave them there till they sink, which is 1 day. Then keep them in zip lock bag for 2 days. That SHOULD do the trick. If you see 3 days pass and 4. And the seeds have not even cracked. They might be bad. But just give it a day more.

alright, mine started germin, i saw their lil root. i was gonna take a pic but my battery died (i guess when one life comes in another goes, haha). this may seem like a stupid question, but when i stick the germinated seed into the grow pod sponge, do i do this with my fingers? also, is it ok if they germinate a day longer than recommended, cause i wont be able to get to them tommmorow?

Yea, some people are weird and use tweezers, but i use my finger, just handle with care, you can plant them whenever ever you want, its best to plant them all at the same time, or at most a couple days apart, so they all grow the same height, and your not trying to give the plants light, when they all different sizes.

thanx sicc, ive heard of using 24/0 lighting and 20/4 lighting for seedlings, what do u do? and should i just use the hood for seedling stage, or all the cfls?

Well you nedd different spectrums for the CFL's. for Vegging, you use the DayLight ones, and for flowering, you use the Soft White, i would have at lease 2 extra CFL's during the Veg stage, the more growth, the better. Its good to have at least a lil bit of 24/0, i did 24/0 for the first week, then switched to 8/6

i know about the spectrums and all of that, i have 4 additional 28 watt daylight hooked up, but for the seedling stage, do i only use the ag hood, cause thats wat i see a lot of ppl doin?
