My first run at making Grokashi, LABS, and FPJ.

Alright, I feel like I have read enough about this stuff and it's time to put it to use. I started off with a soil test and everything looks fine, so I can't blame the soil if something goes wrong. A couple of days ago, I started 10gal of Grokashi and I followed the recipe as closely as I could and I am missing the Super Cera and Organic beet juice, but I have everything else including the "Youngevity" multivitamin. Yesterday, I made FPJ out of a tomato plant that I had. It is about to freeze and I knew that it was going to die in a couple of days, so I put it to use. I hope that I didn't mess anything up because it had a lot of tiny green tomatoes on the vine still and I put them in with the ferment. By tomorrow, I plan on having my bucket ready to activate LABS and I have an airlock for the lid. Anyways, I don't have much to report and it looks like everything is going to take about 2weeks...

The big brown bag is wheat bran and it was $12/50lbs from a feed store. I found bugs in the wheat, but I see that as an added bonus. I have a 10gal bucket also. It's for pool chemicals but it has been empty for a couple of years, according to the old man that I got them from anyways...

so how's it going? Ibe wanted to make my own for while just worried about screwing it up, so I'm still buying my em1 and grokashi for the time being!
I'm hopeful... I knew that I had a problem with low trace/micro nutrients, but I just didn't know how to address it. Then, Hyroot mentioned that this route would address my problems. So, I'm all in. I've been reading about High Brix, but they mostly just talked about rock dusts. I've been using kelp and rock dusts but my soil tests have always came back low in trace minerals.

Another aspect is that I have been making manure compost and it just never seemed to work out for me. Then, Alan Adkisson(Founder of Grokashi) talked about growing up on a dairy farm and that the fermented silage would detoxify the manure lagoons. I still don't know what a manure lagoon is, but he said that they went from void to having frogs and ducks. It was just from the run-off from the silage that fixed it. The silage was treated with LABS.

Then, Adkisson was talking about his time as a judge for the Emerald Cup. He noted that all of the winners were nutrient dense and had a high brix value. Later, he integrated it into his Grokashi. Man, this was exactly what I've been looking for!!! High Brix to solve my trace mineral problem and ferments to detoxify the manure compost that I have. This really blew my mind. This looks like it is going to solve all of my problems...

It's hard to tell, but the FPJ jar is full of liquid. I had my doubts about the brown sugar extracting it all, but it did. Still another week until it is fermented.

What kind of lid is on your mason jar, and has it exploded yet?

-just noticed your using sugar instead of just using some labs/em1
Does it smell?

Rubber grommet/airlock works.
Or use a bucket next time and put a plate over it . Rubber stopper/airlock on the lid

Its just called fpe instead of fpj.

This is basically why I blocked you... I'm not making Flower Power, I'm making FPJ just like I said in the post. Also, if you look in the previous pics you will see the bucket and air lock for activating labs and Roberto's Brew. Did my fucking jar explode, your reaching with this one! I really hope that you didn't come here to teach me something...

It's my fault. One of the people that I am trying to help locally is giving me a hard time. Do you ever come across those people that don't know shit about growing and they latch on to you and suck you for all of your extra grow equipment. I've got one of those guys, ask you for every fucking thing and refuses to learn or help out. I wish that I could block people in real life... Laws just passed in Oklahoma and nobody knows shit around here. I've been at this for about 8yrs now and people just want to take advantage.

For the FPE, I will need a lot more activated labs. I only bought a quart of EM1 but I also bought the equipment to make 10gal of activated labs. I plan on doing that tonight actually. I drilled the hole for the carboy and air lock and I just need to clean the bucket and heat up some water. I'll chill out and unblock you, sorry!

all good buddy , im over 5 hours from the nearest hydroponic store . and yes all my extra pumps, fittings and nutes are gone, and yes, everyone and their dog wants to get into growing .

if pople dont want to learn , tell them they need to find somone elese to ask.

ive been mostly hydro but where where i live out in the middle of nowhere, organic just makes more sense ,

hardest part was letting go of the hydro mindset. and explaining to people you dont needbottled nutes to grow in soil lol most growers around here use promix and bottled nutes

even the organic growers around here , alot of them have never heard of em1 knf jadam labs fpj fermenting , bokashi, barley , composting indoors,

That's what is so nice about KNF, I was able to go and grab a tomato plant before it froze and make it into something useful, a FPJ. Another reason for the FPJ is that it only takes 5-7 days to finish, so I was able to use some last night while the 'kashi and labs are able to finish in another week. To answer your question about the smell, FPJ didn't have a smell at all.

Here is a copy and paste from the website:
FPJ is a fermented extract of a plant’s sap and chlorophyll's. It is a rich enzyme solution full of microorganisms such as lactic acid bacteria and yeast that invigorates plants and animals.

Here is my homemade Grokashi after 2 1/2 weeks. I am using EM1 and wheat bran and I'm pretty sure that it turned out alright because it smells like an old whiskey bottle, the good whiskey like Maker's Mark. I made 10gal and it seems to be a very large amount! I'm in the process of drying it out now, but I got to use as much as I wanted for a topdress in my flower room and I mixed it in the soil for my clones. I used everything for the Grokashi recipe except for the Super cera and organic beet juice. I might add that to my next batch! Anyways, I think that this turned out well!

My last soil test was very low in Boron. I used borax(very small amount) and FPJ and they seemed to recover pretty well!

You can see how the new growth looks normal.
DSC01094.JPG

Last night, I topdressed with Leaf mold, barley, Grokashi, and Kelp with a rabbit bedding mulch. The rabbit bedding is 50/50 straw and alfalfa. Plus, it usually has rabbit urine and manure. I flipped to flower after I top-dressed.

Here is the soil test that shown low Boron... I'm getting the idea that an abundance of a nutrient don't hurt unless it is locking something else out. Anyways, I think that I am back on track now. I got so tired of misdiagnosing soil problems when it is only $30 for this test.
