My first plant try question...

I have done a lot of reading but it gets very confusing from write-up to write-up. Some stuff sounds like it contradicts itself like lighting distance, and different bulbs etc. Here is my situation, I have a plant growing with a dual bulb florescent running sunlight bulbs about 2 inches from the plant. The plant is about a week in and is about 2.5-3 inches now. I planted the seed in miracle grow and has a ph of about 7. Can you people give me a clear idea of what I should do to produce a good quality plant. Is it really necessary to have a boat load of nutrients and fertilizers? I have no problem investing time into this, I just want to know what actually works. Since its my first time I just need a real clear description of exactly what to do. Thanks!!!!

nutes - fox farm or flornova, superthrive for additive. ur soil will b fine for the first 2 weeks then u need nutes. keep ur lite 2-3" away the whole time. use 6500k daylight 4 veg and 2100k warmwhite for flower. Top or FIM on the 3rd 4th or 5th node when wanting to flower after a month... hope that helps. oh n temps 70- 85 wit good vents. n 78-100+ wit Co2.

nutes after end of week 3 imo and water on every third watering.....that works for me! first feeding 1/4 strenght increaces to 1/2on the second(if nuffin bad happen...they may curl a bit but don't worry ), then full strenght!

Thanks so much for the help, I love to help people with their problems so its nice to be helped for once! What is 3rd, 4th, and 5th node? Flower after just a month, then how long to harvest? Where is the best place to buy the nutes, wal-mart, kmart, etc?

Stick em on your windowsill until they are about 3" tall then go plant those babies outside and let nature do everything for you! The lazy mans way to grow weed! Hell, it works for me! Hehe

Thebigpair00, my plant looks like the one in your sig pic minus the horizontal leaves, and they are part yellow and part green. Just in the past day I started using a strong light from a little crap one for the past week or so before. Any suggestions anyone??
