My first plant, Pics

Seems to be more activity on this forum.

So I have had the plant for roughly six weeks I believe, it is now 19.5 inches in height, yet no flowers, it is also not that dense.


It was given in a very small pot, and once it reached about 10 inches it slowed alot, so I got a bigger pot and went with my gut feeling and used some miracle grow, potting mix to be exact.

It was super hot in Southern Ontario for about a week and a half, one day it was 35 degrees!
Anyhoo as you can imagine it grew alot. I forgot to mention that I have the plant outside.

I water at night let it do its thing during the day.

So here are some pictures. I have no clue what to do now, it just keep growing, it seems to be a hell of alot taller than most other plants this age (i'm guessing around 10 weeks) but it bares nowhere near as many leaves. Also is this indica or sativa? What's the difference between the two?

At what age should it flower, and how long should it flower for, I have another friend who will give me horse manure, apparantly this will make it flower alot and fast? I know I also have to give it 12 hours in the sun then 12 hours in my shed? Plant food, what should I do for it? Miracle grow?

Now that pot seems a little small, should I get a bigger pot? I know they make massive pots out there, and i'm not too keen on planting it in the ground, the soil is pretty bad anyway.

The leaves that turn yellow at the bottom, i'm told I should cut them off with scissors?

I also ate a mango the other day and I tore up the skin and stuck it in the soil about 3 inches down each, good or bad?

So what to do now, many questions of course.

size wise, put in in flower indoors 12/12 or 18/6

find a light source you can work with .. hps\mh\cfl\fluro , and don't cut the leaves

pot plants can be flowered after 3 or 4 weeks of vedge, tho some veg longer ..

Strain wise, its a little big for an indica lolz, tho leaves aren't thin sativa wise .. maybe a cross ?
 
Indica/sativa hybrid, looks a lot like a Northern Lights that I have with an odd phenotype that I want to keep.

Watering daily is too much, water only when the top couple inches of soil get dry, hopefully before the plant starts to bend and wilt. Letting it dry a bit will promote root development.

Good job with the stake, but remove it if you want a stronger plant. You can always add one if it starts falling in flower.

So what is vedge? how do I know when it is over?

how would you rate the grow thus far? It's been raining a lot here so I haven' been watering it daily it just has been watered daily haha. I'm worried about those sparse leaves :-?

Veg is the vegetative growth phase before a plant is fully mature. Flowering is when the plant switches from structural growth and focuses on flower development. This is a very simple version, it's actually somewhat more complex and you can read about it using the search function. Veg = long days, flower = short days.

As for the plant, it's fine. Consider giving it some basic plant nutrients (walmart, target, lowes, local store, etc.) with water if it stops growing or gets too light green.

flowering reacts to photoperiod...which is usually 12 or more hrs of darkness
u can grow straight from 12/12 if u like but the plant wont flower until its sexually mature..which is when alternate philotaxy takes place
ur plant doesnt look sexually mature

So when will I have to put it in a bigger pot? Miracle grow plant food is good right?

How much bud should I expect? I'll only know if it's a male once it starts to flower? If I get a clone off it, could the clone be female or will it be the same sex as the plant.

oh oh! Important. I know they need C02, so if I got a c02 cannister for a bb gun and popped it and sprayed it on the plant would that be good or bad?

i must admit looking @ uur plant i got the impression it also looked male - not sure why just do! i also think ur plant looks a bit stretched but thats just my 2 pence of input

Okay I did some more reading, and it may not be a male, the chances are 50/50 no?

How tall will this thing get if it's female?
