My First Grow

This is my very first grow, I'm an amateur and it shows in my setup lol. I planted 3 germinated bagseeds in soil on 4/10/14 and currently only have one growing properly, so it's the main focus of my grow and I hope it'll be a female. I am currently growing with CFL's. My setup is 1x42w 2700k, 1x26w 2700k, and 2x15w 6500k. I am planning to move a small fan in there within the next day or so to lower the temp in my setup "box" and also to raise the humidity some. The plant is growing in Miracle Grow regular potting mix, and yes I know it's not the best but couldn't find better until after I planted it and then moved it to the larger pot. After the advice of a fellow grower, I flushed(or attempted to) the plant today to get rid of bad pH levels which was causing leaf twist and also the slow releasing nutes in the soil. The plant will be 2 weeks old tomorrow and I'm planning on switching it to 12/12 because I'm not trying to grow a very large plant. I am a new grower and don't claim to be anything better than an amateur so any advice or criticism is welcome. Let me know if there is info missing. Pictures were taken today (4/23/14) and will be added every couple of days.

Good looking so far, next veg cycle I'd use more 6500k :)
I wanted to use more of the 6500k but couldn't find anything at the store with more watts than 15 so I used stronger 2700k. Is this leaf twisting a big problem or should I not get concerned about it? I was told it's a possible pH problem?

dont stress those leaves curling its nothing, now if it continues later on in growth than it may be a bigger problem but those two bottom leaves will die off anyway.

Looking healthty to me, just be careful not to overwater, I usually wait until they show slight signs of underwatering and/or the pot feels very light.

you could start now with a 1/4 or lighter and work your way up as the plant grows, or in your case id wait until your sure its a female so you dont waste nutes on a male.:leaf:

Update: two weeks old as of today (4/24) Seems to be doing good. Planning to switch it to 12/12 tonight because I'm only aiming for a small plant. After the soil dries I'm gonna water it with nutes at 1/4 strength for the first time. Right now I have MG Tomato Food, but I've read that MG Bloom Booster or whatever is better for flowering. Also, any idea what these yellow spots on the end of the leaf are? They appeared about 3 days ago and I thought it was a Nitrogen deficiency. I flushed yesterday because I thought I had a pH problem but no new yellow spots have appeared since so I'm not sure. Also my second oldest leaf set is starting to look a tad withered. I think that's the right term. Lol. Maybe it's just from watering it yesterday?

I decided to wait a few more days, a week or maybe longer to switch to 12/12. I'll just see how fast it grows from now because I've read that it grows really fast after 2 weeks. I don't think it's worth a tiny yield to flower a week or two early.

in the end youll get more bud. the more main tops the better, and there are a few diff ways to get more than one top, super cropping works pretty good, my next grow im gonna scrog thatll prolly double even triple what im gonna pull this time around.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but to top it, wouldn't I just cut the top node off?

When would be the best time to top it? ASAP or wait until it has grown some more?
the big one was about this size when i topped them, but as you can see with two tops like that my yield gets doubled, and you can top more than once, top 1 get 2 top those 2 get 4 those 4 get 8 and so on

I'll take some pictures in a little while because mine has grown past where you topped yours and I'm not exactly sure what all to cut off at this point lol
