MY first grow - Week 1

Hey,

Thought I'd post some pictures of my first grow. I attempted to germinate 5 Liberty Haze seeds, of which four germinated. I am using a 2x2x5.5 grow tent with 8 24" T5 bulbs (4 blue and 4 red). I am using CocoGrow as the medium. I plan on using GH FloraNova Grow for Veg and GH FloraNova Bloom for flowering. I've attached some pics which are taken exactly one week after putting the seeds in paper towl. Any thoughts, suggestions, comments or other helpful remarks? Wheel to the Storm and Fly!

To grow they need more 6400k+ bulbs like minimum 80% so i would put only 1 or 2 red bulbs and then when flowering use 100% red. And the lights must be really close like 1-2 inch.

Thanks Man! I actually turned two of the reds off in the fixture. I'm running 4 blue and two red. Do you think I should add an extra 2 blue - or leave at 4 and 2 for now? My lights are about 4" over the plant. I can get them closer when the plants grow a little taller - but right now I can't really get them lower.

looking good, you're gonna need to transplant soon, the roost have probably already reached the bottom of that tray!

REALLY?? I thought maybe another week for transplanting. I am transplanting into 8 litre (2 gallon pots). Is this big enough? Keep in mind my grow space is 2x2.

yeah they root alot while seedlings, i found the root is usually about 2 times longer than its height just a rough estimate though. if you are using smaller pots i would recommend airpot or smartpot they are very good for your roots.

yea use 4 blue and 2 red, once they get bigger add another two blue, once in flowering use 2 blue and 6 red ..

and yes keep em small/low and bushy and as Zakola say, with in 2 inch`s of the tops, thats the trick with T5s if you don't have a big HPS to flower with, need to train, top/FIM or what ever to keep em small and with all the bud sites close to the tubes ..

about GH, look in to there Micro and maybe The "Lucas formula"

also had good experience with there Ripen for the last two weeks ..

You are right about waiting a while to transplant. Just wait till the roots start growing out of the drain hole. Fertilizer is what will make you or brake you. You need a balanced fertilizer that will give you everything you need to grow a plant from start to finish. Otherwise you will be posting "What's wrong with my plants later.
I like three part fertilizers that have calcium, magnesium, micros. Usually grow, micro, flower in a three part system. Green mojo for you my friend. Peace
