My first grow (LR2) - A calamity of errors and the most amateur setup you'll ever see

And yet it's still growing!!

Right. It all started when I happened to get some lowryder 2 seeds by accident, I couldn't really sell them so I thought I might as well grow them.

I got a reflector, a fairly expensive 250w HPS bulb, some pots and soil. I thought I was pretty much set up. Then I realised I'd need a ballast for my HPS (I had no idea) but I couldn't afford one and I'd already germinated 3 seeds so I just got 3 lamps and put them on it for about 2 weeks.

Then I could afford a cheap ballast, so I got the cheapest from ebay, then realised I'd need to wire it up which looked impossible, plus I'd need to mount it and it all just looked like too much hassle. At this time I found out I could have just got envirolights which don't even need a ballast. So I got a nice big 150w envirolite (and am looking to sell my ballast and 250w bulb, both phillips, if anyone's interested)

Here comes my most embarrassing error - I got an envirolite for vegetating. Little buds were already coming out so I thought this might be useless but I really can't afford to spend any more so I just put the biggest lamp back to go with with the envirolite.

And yet, somehow, they seem to be doing alright! well one of them is anyway, it's got lots of buds growing and lots of white hairs everywhere. I think it's about day 35 now. The biggest problem is the leaves are yellowing. I'm using biobizz but haven't tested the ph of the soil which I suppose I should.

Yeah, I guess I might.

Anyone know why the leaves are so yellow? and why the stems are purple? I've googled but there seems to be a million different answers.

It looks like they have had to stretch for light and I think they may have a magnesium deficiency, do your nutes have micro nutrients added?
