My First Grow - Autoflower LED

Hey rollitup, I've been a long time lurker and finally decided to start a small grow. I am in a 2' x 4' x 5' tent. I have 3 plants that are exactly a week in from sprouting. Im using FFoF with a 3 to 1 ratio with perlite in 5.5 gallon pots. They are heavyweight fast and vast auto-flowers and I'm doing a 24/0 LED grow with some supplemental CFLs. One plant is smaller than other but I think it might of just be the runt of them. But I thought just to share and get some input if they looks healthy for the first week. A few leaves were bending weird a little bit but im concluding that it might be from the fan directly blowing on them. Any feed back or first time grower tips and trick would be greatly appreciated.

So Today would be the 1st week and 3 days in from sprouting and sadly the little runt plant will not make it, he was tiny and the larger leaves started dying. I decided to clear my space a little to get a little more room and to see what was going on with this guy. I dug him up and saw that his stem was deformed under the soil. 2 out of 3 seeds is what I planned on anyways.

i am just amazed at how fast the babies are growing. too stoked.

i am having a problem with heat because the temperature around here is like +or- 25 degrees every other day so it hard to maintain temperature. The temperature is usually right between 77-84 inside the tent but last night it was a bit warm so i put a large block of dry ice in-front of on of the oscillating fans and it really helped keep the temperature down.

Hey guys! Today is the end of week 2 (exactly 14 days from sprouting). Today was a nice day outside and I was finally able to hold 77 degrees all day. Im hoping it stays that way for the coming weeks. I had to turn off the right side CFL for a few days because the tent was getting very warm even with the tent door wide open but its back on today. I am having a slight problem now that the plants are getting large and the leaves are starting to touch the inside of the pot. What is the best low stress way to redirect the bottom leafs growth.

I am also still seeing some of the leaves curling a little. What is the cause for that?
I posted pictures for you all to see and any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am really in love with these plants and just like taking care of roses, orchids, or bamboo its such a stress reliever. I also have a citizen cob grow light build on the way. I am currently just waiting for the cobs, heatsinks, and lenses from overseas.

Its getting too big! The leaves are starting to touch the edge of the pot. I put a small piece of cardboard to guide the leaf to growing outside of the pot as it was breaking from pushing against the inside.

A few leaves have are curling slightly light this. Ive been reading and reading and I dont know if its from heat or wind or nut deficiency but overall the plants look healthy

Quick update! Today is the end of week 3 and the start of week 4. My plants are growing so rapidly and they look very healthy. They are starting to smell and I can see some pistils now. I no longer am having any problems with temperature control, which is a blessing to me. And i have yet to start any nutrients as they look healthy and show no signs of nutrient deficiencies.

I hope everyone had a good thanksgiving! I definitely skipped out on week 4 because I had gone out of town and life has been keeping me busy but for those who care, today is the end of week 5 and I am so surprised at how much these guys have grown. This week I finally introduced nutrients(fox farm trio) and I followed the feeding schedule at half strength and I found out that even half strength was a bit too much. They were barely burned, as I noticed 3 leaf tips browned and a few with tiny yellow tips. But since then they have recovered and doing really well. I am really impressed with these "Chinese" grow lights and I added 2 X 85 CFl @ 2700k. I am glad the third plant didnt make it because the grow tent is completely out of room and im running out of room to raise the light. I will be making a new harness to squeeze a few more inches out of light these coming days. Anyways, super stoked and blessed that my homegrow is doing well.

Week 7 into the grow! nugs are looking good and other some calmag and potassium deficiencies(which I quickly took care off) the plants are doing great and im really impressed with their growth and flowering. Not much else to add other than I added some small 16 w led bulbs to the grow so that every inch of space is covered. Talking about space... i need a bigger tent for next grow possibly because there is 0 room left. i cant raise the lights anymore and there is not space left around the plants lol. Anyways... stay high and stay tuned in till next week :)

I feel bad because I got so caught up with life and the holidays that I havent kept updated but i continued to take pictures. anyways today would be coming into week 12.

I havested one plant on week 9 and honestly i was prettty impressed. buds were a little airy but for my first try i was happy as hell. since then ive been currating it and the plant(the plant always on the right side in my pics) weights out to exactly 4 oz. pretty crazy huh?? lol

the second plant is still growing and i feel like it should be done soon. I dont know why but its just getting massive and the trichromes are now starting to get more cloudy.

if you have any questions i would be glad to answer them.

i cant raise the lights anymore
I got mine almost right up against the bars on top with strong zip ties. Just needs a little room for the power cord and fan intakes on top.
First I attached 4 strong zip ties together into a super long one, then threaded it through a hanging loop, then over a tent bar before reconnecting into a zip tie loop.
After doing that for each of the 4 loops, I tightened them one at a time and the light was winched up as far as I wanted. Hard to let it back down though :P

Hahaha let me tell you, I was going to attempt to do the same thing but I have fans mounted on the top plus with with inline fan and filter there is not much room left for that. My next grow I'm going to have to rearrange some stuff so that I can basically do what you did haha. Thanks bro

Yes I know what you mean, just a couple of weeks ago I upgraded from a 2.5x2.5 to a 4x4, and was finally able to do this because the carbon filter now fits next to my light.
I'm debating If I should upgrade my 4 x 2 tent to something larger like a 4x4, but then again I'm just trying to grow my own smoke...hmmmm.... bigger is always better ! Lol
