My first female - 22 days into flowering (pics)

Hey everybody!!!!
I'm very very happy to start this thread.... i'm sure you all understand!!!
Here it is, my very first female plant!!
I'm using as a guide the "Buds For Less" book, with a few differences because of some little problems at the beginning.
So, seed was planted, sprouted, but after about 10 days it suffered from heat stress and its grow was stunted. Luckily it survived!!!!! It stayed in 18/6 for about 20 days since it sprouted. Then I switched to 12/12 and now it's day 22.

Soil: BioBizz All-Mix

Lights: i'm using cfls. 2 55W (275W equivalent each) 6000K, 2 65W (335W equivalent each) 2700K, and as from yesterday 3 25W (120W equivalent) 2700K.

Nutes: All from BioBizz. Up till now I've used BioHeaven, BioGrow and BioBloom.

Here are the pics!!!!!!

Any comments, suggestions are highly appreciated and needed!!!

Cheers...

....and a question I forgot to ask. The lower fan leaves and side branches, which don't get enough light, is it ok if I cut them off?? They're not gonna produce any buds, and some of the leaves are crispy because of the early heat stress, but haven't fallen off... Should I take a clean razor and cut them?
thanx

Unless i misunderstood that lollipop video that was posted i believe itd be ok to do that...let someone more experienced in this matter post somethin about it though. I dont want to mislead you and kill your plant, i figured id offer up my advice on it and say go for it.

that's what i was thinking too... i was just looking at the lower part of the plant and it looks like they're dying either way. I'll try and take some pics of that part and post them. But i only got my phone camera today, so quality won't be that good.

Here are some pics of the lower part of the plant, you can see that some fan leaves are burned, and the first couple of branches can't even see the light. Those are the ones I'm thinking of cutting off along with the fan leaves.

hey! your plants look good man! i remember when mine was that little... so cute! hahaaha. about the cutting off leaves thing, personally i wouldnt. just let them fall off because you dont know if the plant is still using those leaves:mrgreen:

They only time you would take off the leaves is if their VERY sickly looking, those fan leaves are its pretty much their lungs. If they are really holding it back from growing, just tie it up so it doesn't get in the way.

thank you man!!! i'm a bit confused about cutting them or not, i guess i won't touch them for now, and wait for the to fall on their own, just like some others did.

thank you jon!! i'm also thinking of tying some of the upper fan leaves, because they're getting in the way. After all I'm using cfls, and the last thing i'd want is even that light to be blocked.....

Leave the fan leaves. And cut only a few at the bottom.dont cut alot at onetime it will stress the plant and slow growth. Cut the small suckers leaves and small branches on the bottom i only cut 2 at the most then wait a few weeks then prune if needed again, hope this helps just my 2cents.

I agree with above. I don't take off healthy leaves, but I do remove the bottom few branches a week before flowering because they only produce the smallest of buds. Only take a few off at a time you don't want to over stress it all at once.

thanx everybody for the replies. I didn't cut any leaves so far, but the lower fan leaves turned yellow and died by themselves.
Now it's 36 days into flowering and i believe that everything's going great so far...:)
I haven't cut any branches, but the two lower sets are definitely not going to produce any buds....maybe i'll cut them sometime in the next few days.
medgrower49 i was thinking bout what you said about the stress, and i want to cause as little as possible. I'll cut the first set of branches and then maybe a week later the second one. I believe it will be ok like that!

Temps are a little high, but i can't do anything really about it now, it's really hot everywhere the last couple of weeks!!! i've also put a small fan facing upwards sending the air to the exhaust fan.

I'm uploading some pics, sorry bout the quality but they're from the phone and webcam. hope i'll be able to get some good ones with a real camera soon, so you'll be able to see what's really going on!!!

Hi everybody,
i need your help!!!
Since yesterday, most of the leaves are wilting down and i'm getting worried. Today it's worse than yesterday.
The only thing i did, is bring the lights closer.

Do you think it's heat stress???

your ph should be 6.5-7.0

what are you watering with?

cheers

I'm using biobizz products. For the last few waterings, i've used 1ml/l BioGrow, and 4ml/l BioBloom.
i was keeping my ph between 6.5-7.0, till last watering when i found out that my ph pen was showing 6.5 instead of 7.5. I've calibrated the pen again then. I guess i watered a couple of times while the pH pen was showing wrong values.

It's getting worse.....
What should i do?? Just make sure that the next time i water, the ph is right??
Or should I do something else too???

Was your ph off and so the water was more alkaline? If so, fix up a couple gallons of distilled water of 6.0 and flush them. Water them until the water running out of the pots is clear. Let them be for a couple days to see what happens. It should balance out. Probably wont need to fert. anymore, esp. if you started with good soil.

thanx pacman.
yes, i believe the soil was good. It's All Mix by BioBizz.
during last watering i found out, that the ph meter wasn't showing the correct ph. I guess i must've watered a couple of times with wrong ph.
Just before i read your post, i watered with pure water of 6.5 pH. I'll wait till tomorrow to see what happens, and if i see no progress, i'll flush.
It's my first female, and everything was going ok so far, and i hate to see that something's wrong at this point. I hope that at least, it's fixable.

it could also be that it is maturing fast and using the juices out of the fan leaves for budding which is normal however usually happens later in the flowering stage. good luck and it will be fine. remember, marijuana can grow in the wild just fine without anything special so just don't over water or give to many nutes. the less the better since it wont hurt her like to much would.
