My first Aero build/grow

Hello guys,
This is my first Aeroponics build and my first ever marijuana growing project so wish me luck. It might be a bad idea to start with Aero but oh well.
I have a rubbermade tote I am using as a reservoir, 300gph pump, Rockwool cubes and hydroton media. I am using floragro as nutrient solution and I have a 400w MH lamp.
I am growing bubblicious and northern lights, both bought from nirvana. The bubblicious are growing nicely but the NL have yet to germinate.
I placed them both in glasses of tap water and let them sit for a few days. The Bbl germinated no problem but the NL barely opened and the root did not fully extend out. Now I have the 4 bbl plants growing and I placed the rest of my NL and bbl seeds in water to fill up my garden.

If you guys have any tips please let me know!

I will be updating this thread somewhat often and also if I have any problems I will ask that here. Wish me luck!!!

how long are you planning on vegging for? how tall do you want them to be at harvest?

have you considered getting styrofoam pieces from the hardware store to put up as temporary walls on those other two sides while you're not working on the plants? cervantes says proper reflection can add an extra 10% to every crop, thats 11.2 grams per QP.

Wow that's a good idea with the styrofoam. I am also going to do the ferment yeast thing for CO2.
How long should I veg for? I was thinking maybe wait till my plants are about 2-3ft then switch to 12-12?
Oh, and right now I have been just pouring the nutes directly in the rockwool a few times a day because they are so small idk if the water would reach the roots instead of running the pump. Is this bad? It seems to retain water pretty well. I guess I'll fork up the money today and buy a bunch of gallons of distilled water, toss it all in there, and turn on the pump.

jesus man, if you veg up to 3 feet tall you're lookin at 6-9 foot plants depending on strain when they're all said and done.

they double, sometimes triple in size when you throw them in 12/12. my last plant went from 14" to 36" and most of that height was gained in the first three weeks of flower..... in soil even.

so whatever you want your final height to be, divide it by about 2.5 to see when you should switch to flower.

when you say you're pouring nutes on the rockwool, what exactly does that mean? straight from the bottle? diluted?

Yeah the diluted solution in the water.
And thank you for telling me the height will double. I'll flower at around 15" now, lol.

also, do you have a black sheet you can use to cover the inside of that closet door? light leaks are the single easiest way to fuck up a plant and it's even easier to prevent.

Yes I do need to do something with that ballast lol.
How will light leaking fuck a plant up?
So I can go buy some white presentation board or styrofoam and use them as walls when I'm not singing to my plants. I should also buy some black sheet to cover the closet door? I thought the black was mainly for retarding mold growth in damp places?

light leaks will herm ur plant making it male and female.. no good!... even a lil light leak during dark time can fuck shit up... try getting thich shower curtains, both a dark coulour to keep light out and a white 1 behind it to reflect the light on ur plants... and for god sakes, do sumthing with that box b4 we read about u in the papers... thats 1 reason growing weed is ileagal where i live, cuz they know too many ppl will do stuff like this

OOOOh, light leak as in light leaking in during dark periods. I got you, yeah I'll do that no problem. I will also think of something for the box.
Does anybody have any input on what I should do about the NL seeds?

Yeah any input on the seeds guys? Idk if any of them are going to germinate now. Maybe they are dead?
What would you advise I do? Should I make clones or buy some more seeds?

Hey guys, just updating here.
I am not giving the plant the full nutes yet for veg but they are growing at an exponential rate!
I also just set up my little yeast fermentation project for co2 today. We'll see what gains I receive from that.
I do have a few Qs though.
Is it okay if algae is on the rockwool cubes at all?
I am losing a lot of water due to evaporation I am assuming. I had to put 3 more gal in the tank today. Idk if this is a question but comment on it please!

When do I know the plant is ready for full nutes? How do I know it's in Veg?
I might have to relocate Apts. I am assuming I should wait to flower till afterwards right?

Another update.
Idk what the spots are on that leaf... It is an old leaf obviously and it is the only one showing but I still do not know what it is.

Alright brother, I'm not an extremely experienced grower, but I think I can help you with a couple things. First off, algea is a no go. It means you have a light leak somewhere which can be bad news for your roots. You could add small covers over your net pots to keep light from coming in that way. I've seen people use those paper saucers and just cut a hole in them for your stems. Next, the water loss. While your plants are growing, they consume quite a bit of water, which is normal. The vegging and flowering are determined by your light cycle. While your plants are young, you keep the lights on 24/0 or 18/6. Which one you choose is up to you and there are opinions on which is better, I go 24/0. Once they are the height you decided on, you switch to 12 hours on, 12 hours off to induce flowering. After about a week, you will see the signs of male or female. Females will start growing little white hairs from the nodes, and males will start producing pollen sacs that look like small ball sacs (get rid of these immediately, unless you want tons of seeds). So, my last one I think is a female. What should I do?
I topped the other one and supercropped another, this one I didn't do shit with.
It was the baby? damn.
So is it too late to top it or anything? I started super cropping it already.
