My dumb question of the day....what happens if you exhaust your hot air into a rubbermaid container filled with water? I honestly should have payed attention in grade 9 science, I know, I'm sorry. But treat my stupidity with kindness :dunce:

nothing except you heat the water to the same temperature that is coming out of the exhaust..and since air rises to the surface and disperses upon the "bubbles" popping, you just continue to heat the air around it as well. So I'd have to say your not really accomplishing the goal your looking for....unless its to warm up water for something..

yeah true.

what if you worked threw frozen waterbottles in it 2-3-4 times a day? trying to keep the water temp colder then the exhaust temp.

also would this add to moisture in the air or remove it? ie: you have hot moist air in the cab, you vent it out into cold water. when the bubbles pop, does the reservoir absorb all the water? or do the air bubbles themselves add to humidity?

well i do think there would be some condensation for sure, i've never actually ran any test like this so i wouldnt know for certain, but i do know the water will eventually heat up, and would increase humidity then once its pretty warm. The only way (I) can think of, would be to run exhaust tubing, into like a large modified ice chest or a 50gal barrel, have it spiraling downward through the top, coming out of the bottom, and having the space around it packed with ice/ice water.. so that the exhaust is now coming out at a much cooler temp. Similar to how they would condense moonshine, see how the tube carrying the steam goes into the Worm Box and spirals through the cold water to condense the steam back down into liquid form.

how much water depends on how much pressure, you could have a higher water pressure and squirt water back thru your exhaust fan and start a fire and possibly kill your dog.

Yeah I figured if anything, exhaust would be up high, rubbermaid would be down low. Lid would be off because you cant just close the lid and force constant air into it..eventually the pressure will blow the lid off or force air back up through the exhaust.

But it honestly sounds like this plan ain't so hot, I was just curious lol. Still am I guess I mean it might have some potential. But I think the simplest best way is just using an AC

Lol I had another crazy stoned idea.

What if you first vented the cab/tent into a closed rubbermaid stuffed with frozen watterbottles to cool the air and create condensation, then further vented that air into an open rubbermaid which collected condensation and released the (now cooler) air? Does that make sense?

So it would go tent -> exhaust into closed rubbermaid (ice chamber) -> exhaust that into open rubbermaid (collect water and empty this as needed). Of course you'd need a constant supply of frozen waterbottles, but thats easy enough. And you'd have to empty both out all the time which would get a bit annoying. Just wondering if this would even work though, I guess I'm more curious then anything.

your basically just doing exactly what i told you about with the whiskey still. Except the condensation your collecting in the final rubbermaid is just water and not liquor..but yeah i think it would work, atleast to a degree

uhh well if youre talking about some science....
youd be making carbonic acid in the water..
CO2 + H2O makes carbonic acid.....

What if you filtered the water? The running water could be filtered through some sort of cooling system.
