congrats bud, throw some pics up and il throw some rep your wayI am excited! Just got the final dry weight on an Obama Kush I harvested. It's my biggest indoor plant ever. Weighed in at 7 3/4 OZ! I am very psyched because I was estimating 5-ish at the most.. Low Oregon plant counts = BIG Oregon plants

Yeah, it's nice to find a winner plant. I'm starting over after clearing out everything over the winter for a remodel of the grow room so it's nice to get a good keeper.
It's not ceramic...actually I had to google what a ceramic metal halide was
It's hooked up to an ancient magnetic ballast.

old school is stable,how far away was the light from the ladies?
The light distance varied. Since I was growing a variety of genetics I had to work around the plant that stretched the most (a Blue Dream). I think most of the time it was 18-24 inches away. The lights are in sealed, air-cooled hoods.
Also, I did some aggressive training in veg that seems to have paid off on most of the plants. Here's how they looked about 2 weeks before flipping to 12/12:

so 2 ft at most for the 1k?im sorta hyper vigilant about my lights either burning or causing the girls to stretch so im constantly adjusting it just seems to vary aolt.that's some intense training.did any branches snap beyond repair?i see the cola chillin at what seems to be a 45 degree angle.some beast fiber
At one point I pulled the lights up a little beyond 2ft due to a very temporary temperature issue which was resolved within a couple days.
The training was the most aggressive I've ever done really. I'm always trying to maximize horizontal coverage with a minimum of vertical growth. After the training photos they vegged another couple weeks which I didn't train so it gave them some vertical growth, then I released the bonds and put into flower. The only issue I had was watering with the trained branches so close to the dirt. Had to be careful to keep splashed dirt off of them. I only broke 1 branch this round. For the most part I kind of crush and work the stem before bending it over so they don't usually break. The 45 degree cola is some stuff I pushed to get into the photo
It is mostly cut down now, too.The aggressive training definitely slows them down, but since I take clones from the plants that are about to go into flower I have 8-10ish weeks to grow from clone to flowering size all while trying to stay in the 12" rule here in Oregon. So, I figure a little training that slows them down a bit isn't actually a bad thing.

I veg a long time because I take clones just before the prior generation goes into flower. Prob 8-10 weeks with a lot of training.
Currently 2600W with room for about twice that if I get the summertime temp situation worked out.
I use big pots (18 gallon) because I figure it gives me more room for error...less chance I'll run out of something crucial. It's definitely nowhere near as efficient as it could be soilwise, but it allows me to be a little less careful because sometimes I can't spend as much time on the garden as I like. I tried a few different soils this time: Roots (my usual), Ocean Forest, Happy Frog and local Harvest Moon. Roots won out over Ocean Forest by a hair and a larger margin over the other two in my style.
For the 1st time in a long time I did not stay organic (usually do a super soil setup). This time I ran Fox Farms at about 30-40% of the soil recommendation...although I didn't feed nearly as often as they recommend.
Funny thing is I changed up so much stuff this time I have no idea if the main improvement was genetics, nutes or environment...but something worked LOL. I'm going to go back to super soil with then new environment and genetics to see if I still get similar yields as Fox Farms...we'll see.
