there's two pimiento de padron var. in the mix. Iv managed to get a cutting of it rooted right into peaty soil. i accidently knocked the top off on of the spicier peppers, i was hoping to clone it, but when it happened, i had to leave for something probably not that important.... so i lost the top....

I broke a big limb off one of my {not so} Mini Sweet peppers when I was picking. I got four cuts off it and put them in my 5 gallon bucket rooter. A couple of them rotted from too much moisture, and the other two still have no roots. I had rooted tomato cuts before, so I figured peppers would be easy too. Maybe not.there's two pimiento de padron var. in the mix. they'll root in peaty soil/ in shade/ misting twice a day.... pain .. that's my root method for everything. works pretty well. never used a hydro type cloner, just automatic misting twice a day from a timer faucet.

Here is my rig. It's a submersible pump in a bucket with 6 three inch holes cut in the top for the net cups. I have the pump on a timer, 30 minutes on, 30 minutes off. It's outside, and the heat might be part of the problem. I need to remember to dump a little ice in there every day.

That one looks good. I've done cuts floating in water before that worked alright. I used an air pump, turkey roasting pan and cut down coffee cups. When the roots get big enough, you just break the Styrofoam from around the stem.
I'm thinking part of the problem with the pepper cuts was the state of my rockwool. Some of the farm cats decided a sheet of the bigger cubes would make good bedding, so I'm using 4 of the smaller cubes instead. {I used the best I had on the tomatoes, and it wasn't too good} They are not tall enough to block the water coming over the top and getting on the leaves. I will cut down some coffee cups to block the top part. And I'll get to town to get some more rockwool the next chance I get. I have another pump, and plan on setting up another bucket rig, or maybe even a storage tub since the pump is stronger than this one. I want to do a few weed cuts before it gets too too late.
