What kind of shrooms are growing in your area? Not looking for street addresses or your secret spots.

As a fellow hunter I think it could be helpful to know whats growing around the country.

magical ones in my area!!!

Not that I an expert, and i havent hunted in 14-15 yrs, but all i remember picking in our cow pastures here in South Texas were Psilocybe cubensis. I did see one tiny amanita muscaria one time under a tree when my buddies were late picking me up and i had to stand in a rain storm for about 2 hrs, lol.

This past year in Kenai, AK, right after break up, me and my buddy found about 3 dozen GIANT amanita muscaria shrooms . They were build more like those read mushrooms you eat than the normal amanitas I have seen. The caps were about 8-9 inches across, and 1.5 - 2 inches thick. My buddy has pics I think Ill try to post later.

I am considering packing up what's important and trekking up the Alaska-Canadian Highway; that's the only reason why I ask. I've been looking into the Matanuska Valley, and surrounding areas.

Lets try not to hijack this thread too bad, but Its a great place to live. When I finally settle down it will be somewhere on the Kenai Peninsula. Probably between Kenai and Nikiski... remote enough that you got no bothers, but only 30-40 minutes to a store. Plus its absolutely beautiful, and the fishing and hunting is great.

hell yea. that would be awesome to live in the mountains. u could hunt the shit out of sum karabu. i live on texas too and cant wait to leave here. the shrooming is bomb here though.
