so I've recently tried to colonize Panellus Stipticus (a bioluminescent mushroom) onto a log.. and i inoculated the log with wooden dowels infused with Panellus spores.. I've left the log in a old fish tank, and I've newspapers up all the glass to stop the light from getting through, and I've filled the bottom of the tank with Perlite, and put in a humidity meter, and it has been a very steady humid environment, and with steady temps of 68-80 degrees... I've started this about 3-4 weeks ago, and I'm noticing around the holes where I've put int he dowels, there is a white looking substance coming out of some of them.. is this Mycelium? or a bad fungus? Im a complete novice when it comes to Mycology, so i don't know what mycelium looks like really.. but another concern is on the ends of the log i am noticing like that cob web looking shit all over it, and I've read this is a bad fungus.. any ideas? i will try to attach a pic later on
