I have 2 Questions.

How long can you keep a mother alive before you need to replace her?

How many generations can you clone/mother from before the strain weakens in potency and you need to phase it out?


I have used my last 2 seeds of this GDP/Chem Dog and I love this plant.
They Were Both Female and I have kept them both as a mother. Wondering How long before the strain is gone forever.......
 
My buddie has a skunk#1 mother for a year & 1/2 now, and is still taking clones.
He keeps it in 5 gallon DWC with 2 CFL.
 
You can go quite far with cloning new mouthers.

Just make sure you pic a nice strong healthy clone.

I know people that don't keep mouther and just clone from clones befor they flower. I think they start a new batch every year or so.

I think you should be good for a few years anyway
 
I tend to flower out and replace moms aftera year or so ,but I have had the same genetics ( clone from clone ) for years.
