Mothers life span? Mother trimming ?

Mother problem

The one mother is getting kinda big for the room....its growing really wide compared to the other mother.......I tried taking some some pics of the other stems on the mother as you can see by the one i circled its really big and i have like 4 of them looking like that there around 6.5 inches long ... i know i could cut them and turn them into clones but i already have clones going right now.... and by the time I'm ready to cut them for clones they will probably double in size............i don't know I'm tripping on this one mother now ...... how do you get a mother to last a long time??? and how do you trim a mother??? i need her short so i been bending her at 90degrees but i noticed when i do that the under leaves and branches get a good grow that day..... I'm trying to keep this mother as short and as long as possible but if any one has ideas of what i should do let me know please..... I'm up for any ideas at this point

Top it! i just keep taking the biggest best tops from the mother for clones. always leave nodes below the cut that will make 2 clones for next time. this way the plant stays shorter and bushier

when my mothers are getting too big i just cut the top half of the plant off... i keep my mothers in soil and in small pots and it keeps em from goin too crazy. i usually keep em for 6months to a year and then clone one for a new mother, i only go 3 deep with mothers from clone after the third cloned mother i look for a new mom, the 1st mother always is a clone for me cause i grow from seed clone all plants then flower the original from seed mothers and pick the best plant's clone as a mother i am 32 days flowering 2 12 month old mothers now and have 2 last clones from them then new year new mothers, well i got 30 days on this then another 60 flowering the clones then the hunt for new mothers

i have to find a couple of threads on topping never done it before.ill look into it .....but haha before i do one quick question?????? what do you do with the top that you just cut off the top your mother ??? since i have my cloner filled ???

right on man thanks, i just topped it today you can check it alll out on the link on the bottom, i have 6 clones i cut from the bottom of one mother and the top i cut from it as well so 7 total. dont know if there going to make it they look really bad right now

just checkin in do you have a dome over your clones? this is the biggest factor to cloning. small soda bottles over the top of the clones will help with humidity and in 2 weeks or so you'll see them come back around. clones usually get shitty before they get good, as long as they are perky and not sagging all over just let em do their thing.
