Mother plant....will this work?

you sure can just that i prefer keeping couple of smaller moms bonsai style. you need to keep pruning useless leaves and branches and concentrate plant energy on the intended cuttings;)
 
Thats enough light four about four square feet. You could fit a small bush if you do it right and still get enough light to veg nice.
 
Your gonna also wanna build a box for it to maximize reflection of the lights to help things along too.
 
Things to keep in mind.

Reflective material or flat white paint for reflective properties.

Ventilation.

Do you need to make it light proof?

Smoke detector is always a good idea.

I'm just guessing this is your first setup. Whats up?
 
first time keeping a mother plant/ cloning. i already have a grow box built with black and white poly on the walls and a can fan for ventilation.
 
how long do you think it will take from seed to be able to take 30 clones from 1 plant under that light?
 
imo it's overpriced. i use shoplights, less lumens per bulb but i can add as many as i want and cover the entire area for way way cheaper. i think using only one of those is not going to veg a big mother plant efficiently but i have never tried, it's just my opinion. for this price you can get many 2ft shoplights daylight bulb and i have used them for years to veg. that said, it will require quite a long time to get 35 clones from a single seed, 8-12weeks maybe. you need to top plant early to produce several shoots.
 
in two weeks you can prob take 10 or so using that light, after 4 or 5 weeks you can take 50 plus easy i bet, hope this helps buddy
