Mother, clone, lighting?

What is a good light to keep a mother and clones under? I have a 2ft 4 bulb t5. But I probablly need at least a 4ft 4 bulb I'm assuming..

unless you have many mother plants then you have your t5 already, they suffice for a mother and several clones ;)

Ok, ok. With the 2ft 4 bulb t5 I have, how many mothers would that be good for? Like 2, and then maybe 4-6 at most clones?

If you want to grow a minimal productive plant, then just put the fewest light as possible...
The more light the better the bud.... Low light = Air Bud...........
As you can, start adding CFL's any size/K rating/wattage in and around your plants....
Keep the light as close as you can [2-4"]
Good Luck!

Daylight spectrum for moms and cool white for rooting clones.
Don't worry about the spectrum on your first grow, save money, use what you have, add better light when possible, add proper spectrum as you have extra money...
Clones and CFL's your just planted clone will not grow an inch per day, so put light within 2" of clone, as long as the heat isn't too much...

I Actually have a 600mh/hps in a 4x4 tent. I've just never done the whole mother clone thing. I wanted to get a mother/clone tent set up as well so I can pick out some awesome phenos I like. I was just wondering how much my 2 ft 4 bulb t5 would suffice for in a mother tent.

It will be really fine...[not perfect].... Now, you have your answer... Go do it!

i keep 21 mothers in 2liter Coke bottle hempys inside my little mother box, ...note the 4bulb 2ft T5 fixture, ...i generally run just 2 bulbs and i get WAY more growth than i can use, most goes into the compost bin.

peace, bozo

Bozo.... That dresser box is freakin awesome. But thank you much. I could potentially have 21 mothers with my t5 and only with 2 bulbs haha. How many hours do you run a t5 light for mothers? 18/6?

i run my veg lights at 24/0 but just because i'm lazy, 18/6 works just fine.

...i know there is a lot to learn here so it is important for you to understand that this isn't new information, it's only new to you.

what i'm getting at is that when you ask questions and wait for answers you'll get many answers that seem to conflict and as a new grower you won't know which advice is worth following and which will lead you to failure.

...if instead you get in the habit of digging through old threads for the majority of your information you will quickly see which is which.

and that's not to say you shouldn't ask questions, just that you will learn much faster if you hunt for the answers to the basics rather than just waiting for someone to give you an easy answer that is too often coming from a well meaning noob who doesn't know any more than you, or not much more anyway.

good luck and have fun, bozo

Very true about the false info, but I just needed to know a few basic things about my light and mothers. But thanks for your input, it will be very helpful.
