Who is the most accomplished MMMA attorney practicing in Michigan over the past eight years? I am particularly interested in successful trial experience.

put bruce block on the list of bad mmma attys
I'm not looking for those individuals brother, I sadly already have a notebook stuffed full of the incompetent, unaccomplished and self interested/promoting type lawyers.

I am looking for a unicorn here to recruit and rely upon in an attempt to change the tides of "justice" faced by our fellow patients, caregivers and their families for the past eight years.

It seems unconscionable to me that such elementary due diligence is literally impossible within this costly industry and absolutely nothing has been done to change that ...

john ter beek did pretty good

nevermind, that was a bunch of aclu lawyers who argued that case.
I agree and thank you for your input. His game and ability to get before our Supreme Court stands out in the mess of lost case law currently nullifying our MMMA rights and law.

I think it would go farther, to just try to educate as many people with the proper information and case laws that are currently in play. You know..to keep them out of court...we all know once your there, its usually a loosing battle in every sense.

I do believe Able has quite a bit of criminal defense trial experience, as he had been practicing for quite some time before MMMA. Although, I was pretty disappointed recently when he dropped MMMA Dr. Kumar Singh's "threat of terrorism" case citing his current work load in Lansing ...

In reality Dr. Kumar is facing really serious non MMMA charges and will likely be served better by council specializing in those laws. If Able forced Kumars hand with this in mind, I can respect that. We'll call it a wash and keep him in consideration :bigjoint:

That's where I'm trying to get with this brother, there are plenty of cautionary tales to be told. With StopTheRaids, victims have/are being interviewed and their stories will be told online in a Cato Institute style. I really like and enjoy working with Charmie Gholson, she is a tireless advocate. We hope to then build upon that base and provide legal analysis/case studies from an MMMA patient/caregiver perspective. Any legal briefs produced during this process will be provider to public defenders freely. In the end we would also like to draft and float an MMMA amendment similar to HB 4210 in Lansing to overturn People v Brown (loss of 4th Amendment rights) just as it had overturned People V Curruthers (loss of extract/edible rights).

(This last case is not a court case as much as a push for public policy change to include autism amongst conditions for which someone can be a patient. It was unsuccessful, but this is a prime example of fighting for patient rights.)

This is the definition of fighting against the system. THIS IS WHAT WE NEED MORE OF.

What were some of your issues with Bruce Block? I've recently contacted him because he seemed competent but I'd look to your advice if someone has had a previous poor experience in the past. I am not looking for a criminal attorney.

Thanks!

Mike

most of them cost 5k, and thats just to start. If it's something small time but hard to get out of, just take the plea deal if you don't have a record. it's a slap on the wrist.

To my mind Neil Rockind is amazing. I have seen him work the Supreme Court chambers and he was marvelous. Michael Kormon and Dave Rudoi are also on my short list.

Block said he was not aware of the men partaking in distribution or conspiracy. He said the men made an "inadvertent mistake."

"They were trying to follow the act ... they didn't apparently do it quite right because the law, in my opinion, has been twisted and warped," Block said.
when your lawyer calls you guilty in the newspaper, its time to get a new lawyer.
