Morning Glory

So i herd eating morning glory seeds have similar effects to acid. Does anyone know about these or know wich species of morning glory has the best high.

is this true? I grow morning glories and never heard of this can anyone back it up, has anyone tried it before? this is kinda cool.

I've never done it myself, but yeah, morning glory seeds have LSA in them. Its very similar to LSD. I heard the seeds can give you a pretty upset stomach after eating them though.

just did some research and does the plant itself make enough seeds that you could just pick them eat them and get high or do you need more? how much for a normal trip, and if you eat less will it get you less high? this is so cool!

erowid says you can start to feel them with 25-50 seeds. but said most people take between 100-400 to really trip.

the whole morning glory contains the active alkaloid, LSA. If you extract the LSA from the plant (seeds, flowers, leaves, roots), and make an alcohol tincture with it it won't make you sick, whereas eating the seeds alone will make you sick as a dog before you begin to feel good/trip.

Care to elaborate on this extraction process?

Well, I wish, but I seem to have lost the link I had to the page I learned it from. I'll try to find it. But the process is pretty simple, and can be done with a few common household/kitchen items. The only thing I can't get my hands on as of yet is the pet ether, but I think there's something similar to it that you can buy from a hardware/paint store.

Yeah, they probably wont start flowering until at least the end of spring, normally the end of summer for me. I would also recomend planting them in full shade if you don't live in a humid environment.:peace:

why full shade? Don't they need sunlight? I thought that was why the were called morning glories-because they bloom during the day and close at night. they're in a hanging pot (5 0r 6 of them) in front of my kitchen window. i open the blinds for them every morning

In direct sunlight the flowers die by noon, in the shade they can last several days(almost guaranteeing polination of the flower). The flowers don't open and close, once they open they polinate themselves and fall off, or just fall off. I would grow this plant on the west side of your house or under some tall trees. Morning Glories do not like direct sunlight the leaves will wilt before 1pm in full sun with low humidity, also I find using a high phosphorus fertalizer for flowering and seed production almost impossable in direct sun light. Try it out for yourself though, grow one in direct light and one in the shade.:peace:

I'm just using miracle grow. i really should transplant a few of them before i begin seeing root rot. it's cruel to expect 5 r 6 of them to grow in the same pot. when the weather gets warmer, i'll put them outside and let them climb.

Yeah, about them climbing, you're going to need some latus work. They wont climb walls or anything, just a heads up.

I had to maintain this one everyday because it kept falling off the tree.

wow that's beautiful-what kind is that? almost looks like datura. yeah, I already got some lattis stuff. btw, i think i read somewhere that the morning glory is more potent at certain points in its lifespan. when would be a good time to sacrifice a plant?

i doubt that you would need to sacrifice anything other than a few flowers ... you could probably harvest seeds every few weeks

yeah, but they produce hundreds of seeds per flower. so me, it's not a huge deal to sacrifice a few plants. i plan on growing tons more in the spring.
