I have grown 10 from seed with a UFO and my plants are 2 foot tall. I switched to 12/12 3 weeks ago and found out that I had 4 males, so I killed them. Now I have 6 females left and all are just starting to bud. I just bought a 600 W HPS would it be best to take down the UFO and put the 600 W HPS up, put up the HPS and the UFO, or just stick with the UFO. I was told the UFO is equal to a 400 W HPS but not sure if that is true or not. Any help would be greatley appreciated!!! Pluss I was wondering what my humidity should be at. 25% durring middle weeks of flowering?

Damn I was wondering same thing, I have a 400 HPS and want to drop CFLs for side lighting, just don't want to mess up the spectrum.
I do know that the humidity is far too low. I believe 55% is ideal.
Got any pics? I've been very interested in the UFOs, I'm not a believer yet?

You want a very high humidity for VEGGING and a very low humidty for FLOWERING.

AND you want a higher heat for VEGGING, and a cooler room for Flowering.

What is a UFO ?
Over priced LED, this one $499 equivalent to 400 watt? Uses 1/4 of the power though..

Roseman, is it ok to use different kind of lighting? Such as HPS and cfls for side lighting?

when you say low humidity for flowering what % are we talking about? is 25% to low to high?

I have them in a hydro unit but the control box broke so I just water them in the hydro all the time and remove extra water from the bottum of the buckets the UFO has been working great so far! The plants would be huge!!! if the control box for the hydro system hadnt broken. They still look nice though

I see a lot of growers, maybe msot growers, using HPS and CFLS on the sides, for Flowering.
This is not a subject I am very knowlegable about tho. I do know for sure that you want a DUAL Spectrum at all times, a mix of high and low kevin light, red and blue rays, and a FULL Spectrum is even much better.

Ouch I'd get that fixed ASAP.. PICS PICS PICS>????:cuss:

For Vegging, I want 45% to 55%, and for Flowering, I want as low as I can go, which is 30%.

Well I guess I am going to go ahead and use both the UFO and the 600 W HPS and keep my humidity at 25%. Sorry I dont have any pictures this is my first grow and I am just really paranoid about getting in trouble. I may post some when they are ready to be cured

I disagree, I've read every book from Jorge Cervantes, the potfucking master, and has said 50% is what is best for flowering, and 60-65% in vegetative growth. But hey to each to there own...

THE FAQ on this site says:

What range should I maintain for my growroom humidity and temperature?

What range should I maintain for my growroom humidity and temperature?

A humidity and temperature gauge are essential in any growroom. Daytime conditions should be 70-80 degrees without co2, 80-90 degrees with co2 until the last two weeks when daytime temps should be kept between 70-80 and co2 can be reduced to adjust for the lower metabolism. Night temperatures should be kept above 60 degrees to prevent stress. It is preferrable during flowering to have a night temperature drop of 10-20 degrees to stimulate flowering hormones and reduce stem elongation.

I find that low humidity causes stress on plants. I recommend 50-60% humidity until the final 2 weeks of flowering. At this point, the humidity should be lowered as much as possible to encourage the plant to seal and protect itself with additional resin. (I am able to get the humidity to go as low as 31%) I have been able to frost things up considerably this way.

I want as high a humidity as I can get during VEGGING, and I have a humidifier and with it, I can get up to 50% at highest. I do use a lot of LIGHT that reduces the humidity, and I use two oscilating fans too. I wish I could get higher humidity in VEGGING.

For Flowering, I fear bud mold, and that is how I learned to lower the humdity during Flowering, to prevent it. And there are several threads here that say to increase trichs during FLOWERING, to go LOW Humidity.

So there is a lot of confussion here. Should I stick with the 25% humidity or change it back up to 50%

It is debatable, and I am not a debater. I am positive you want VERY HIGH Humidity in VEG, and LOW as you can get in Flowring. The percents are Debatable. I find it imposible for me to get over 50% in my room even with a cheap Walmart Humidifier.

I susgest you research it and tell us what you find out on your own.

Search Humidity on this site.

Google the words HUMIDITY, Hydroponic

and google HUMIDITY, MARIJUANA

and let us know what you find.
