More mushroom woes~

ok... so being one to plan ahead I'm already thinking about how to get a second flush out of my "cakes".... I know that's not the right word but you know what I mean at this point...lol~ All along I thought at some point I would be soaking them for 12 hours or overnight...Poly has managed to scare the shit out of me regarding this...lol~ SO.... if you were me...what would you do??? These are fairly substantial blocks of mycellium and I can't in good conscience just give up after the first flush.... there must be a way... I hope??

mushroom #2 picked this morning.... they're coming in slowly but surely!

probably 15 or 20 more coming in between the two trays...

hmm. welll like i said keep the casing around them moist. spray with a spray bottle daily you should be able to get more flushes. and keep the RH up should be able to get more

busy weekend... sorry for not replying Poly... and yes I will be keeping everything nice and moist! I'm getting a very random flush if you will... 2 mushrooms today, one yesterday.... but probably 30 or so waiting in the wings. I'm not sure if this is accurate but it seems like when I pick one, 2 or 3 others gain steam and begin to grow more rapidly. I definitely can see the advantage of an even pinset, which I definitely do NOT have...lol~ I currently have 5 drying...each about the size of the ones in the pics. They sure do shrivel up!! Probably going to do a little "taste test" this week... 2 grams maybe and see what happens. I have always heard the mushrooms you grow yourself are going to be more potent than the ones you might acquire randomly so I'm going to take it easy first go-round. I could write a short story about my last trip down the rabbit hole so I definitely don't want to get involved in anything too insane while just checking quality...lol~
anyway... ordered more substrate bags.. will use a few to see if I can do as canndo said and create a monoculture... also ordered a few more spores... cambodian and pink buffalo... so I have a few more projects on the horizon

Check this out its a link on the shroomery and u can get the 10 pound bag of pasturized shit for $15 and of the unpasturized (which dtill says ready to go right out the bag) for the same price except its 20 pounds. And the best part is the pasturized shit in the 10 pound bag the bag has a filter patch and u can innoculate straight into the bag.
