I'd like to start this thread by asking a question.
Should right and wrong be based off of morality or through political correctness?
In regards to marijuana I do not see any moral objection with the plant itself. We have been force fed government agenda since we were kids watching Sesame Street. Instead of being allowed to develop our own sense of what is right or wrong with the guidance from our parents we are forced into accepting the norm standard that was created years ago. Those norms are outdated and are illogical as the laws on marijuana we have today.
I could go into a large argument about the hypocrisy of having alcohol and tobacco legal while marijuana remains a felony but that argument has been beaten to death and for the people reading this thread it would be like preaching to the choir.
My argument is about a different right that is being taken away. That right that we no longer have is the right to fail.
It sounds cruel and some people will disagree, but if we all succeed then we all fail. Natural selection is actually being prevented here. The government keeps making new rules and is worried about image and people's feelings. Fuck that, that is not the role of a government.
We as a nation have been babied, when someone gets their feelings hurt or gets called a name instead of telling them to suck it up and move on we go the opposite direction.
We lower standards at our schools trying to get everyone a passing grade. That defeats the whole purpose of school, let the smart students excel and be challenged and let the others fail. If they truly want to succeed they will find the additional help they need.
We need the truly bright to be recognized for their achievements to keep our country on top and moving forward instead of back.
Some people need to fail to get their wake up call. For some, the only way for them to get on their feet is to let them fall. It sounds cruel but come on now, sink or swim. No one should have to hold your hand, the government doesn't owe you any thing.
One failure can lead to another success. Some of the wealthiest people in the world came from nothing and failed at many endeavors, but that didn't stop them from getting to where they wanted to be.
All of my statements are based on my set of morals and logic. I'm thinking for myself. What works for one may not work for another. Restricting a plant because it didn't work for one is robbing so many others of their opportunity to formulate their own opinion, it isn't the politically correct route, but that shouldn't matter. We weren't founded as a country with the basis of political correctness, we had our own opinions.
Now people see the issue of marijuana. Some people think for themselves and conclude the logical solution that people should have the choice. Other are just sheep afraid for their opinions to differ from the politically correct. Unfortunately, party affiliations aside, we have a lot of politicians who are sheep.
Thus our frustration.
