It's now on day 27 and far bigger than the other plants were at that age. I've noticed the autos can be hit or miss. This plant and another germinated the same day, but the other only grew it's first set of pointed leaves then just stopped. It has since started growing again. The big plant 12 inches tall now and just started showing the sexing hairs. The stock is 1/2" thick already. I have the same LED and it works really well. How much does that second light raise the temps? I want another (or just the 600w model) but I cant have it raise my temps much so Im not sue if I should go for it or not.

I'm in an uninsulated shed and the temps have been single digits so overheating has been no issue. I have an electric base board heater set at 65. The canopy stays around 70-75.
 
Hi Douche Nozzle- I'm an Led (2 300 wt. Viparspectre) grower with WW auto's ,Also -I'm doing hydro(DWC with top-drip) these will be 28 days tomorrow from seedlings
Tallest @ 17 1/2" , then med, and Runt.Running 18/6 @ 78 degrees& 38-50 Rh.(cold basement, so space heater+ exhaust fan(sucks humidity out}but keeps temps right

How do you like the Viraspectra led? I'm about to make the switch from 1000w hps.
 
People rag on cheap Led, but in my mind this one and the Mars are doing the job.The Viperspectre has 5 wt lights and full spectrum and run very cool.Perfect setup for small areas that don't have space for cooling system.I have 2 of them in my 2 by 4 by 5' tent and you can see the results.Curious why you are changing from 1000wt.MH other than elec. cost and heat. I have 3 6oowt MH/HPS that are going to light my big tent( as soon as I get 20 amp.line setup for them And figure the plumbing on an 8 bucket RDWC.
 
You hit the nail on the head, Cost and heat. Financially it just makes more sense. I'm trying to figure out which LED (not outrageously priced) to buy and try an LED run. It's always a possibility I switch back. Around here we have some of the highest priced electricity in the world.
 
What size area, Adrian?And how many plants? Only issues with Led is they are very directional(smaller light footprint) But in my small tent ,as plants expanded, I just added 2 clipon Led per side to cover .
They have bigger Led but price gets silly. And then you jump to COB strips (even more) Thats why I grew Autos & now my height for light is almost maxed right when they are pre-flower.These things are Monsters for 4+ weeks. Thing I like about my Vipar lights is they can be daisy-chained(so only one main power plug) so you could put 2,4, or 6 in series(all on one plug and timer-SWEET!) For $89 ea. no brainer! Also, 2 300wt Led are actually only drawing aprox. 135 wts. each @ plug , so way lower on elec. than HID.

I've always liked the daisy chain ability.
I might start pricing them out.
How does it perform from Veg to Flower?

Anyone in Worc. area have a current(National Grid bill) Just trying to calculate added cost for my big tent. Need KWH rate- don't have one handy . Basic formula: total watts(for lights) times ie.18 hrs. day times 30 days=Total watts used divided by 1000(KW) times KWH rate= add to basic bill. So in my example: 2 600wt. HID= 1200 wt. times 18 hrs.(light on schedule) times 30 days= 648,000 watts used divided by 1000= 648KWH so if rate is .12 per KWH=$ 77.76
 
Here's my W.W Autos at 6 weeks- have run out of room so switching to my big tent with more height and 2 600 WT. HPS to maximize this grow.These surprised me as to their size.

If I'm reading mine right I am paying $0.11 per kilowatt-hour
