Mold on Roots

GFUNK, those fuzzy little hairs are root hairs and are a good thing. The hairs take up nutrients and feed the plant. Stringy roots without those hairs are what you want to avoid. The plant can go a few more days before transplant, but you may want to get on it soon.

so i should transplant even though they are only an inch tall? is it because of the roots stretching out of the bottom?

Once the roots realize there is nothing to gain by going out the bottom it will stop exploring that way and start expanding wider, I'd give it a little longer before transplant, but you know they are rooted well now.

Looks like healthy root mass to me, those thin hairs are what grab up the nutrients. whatever your doing (at least from what we can see) I'd say your doing it right and keep on. If you ever do hydro its a trip to see a giant root mass covered in pearly white hairs
