Molasses

holy shit 1 cup per gal.....dam Sunbiz wth were you thinking bro? lol. live and learn right, thats the name of the game.

i agree with the other person who said to use the molasses in a AACT prior to watering it in, this gives the benificials time to break most of it down outside of the soil before adding it. I am by far an expert on the subject so i urge people to read up on it as best they can to get a better insight on exactly what they are doing to thier soil food web when adding molasses.

Well, I figured b/c they were in the ground the molasses would be diluted/absorbed by surrounding native plants...I was wrong.

That's when I began reading university publications on what's actually in molasses/how it interacts in native soils etc...which of course I should have done prior to overdosing that plant. I was one of those new growers who thought he knew everything, then learned the hard way.

the plants dont use molasses at all.. as far as i have read at least. feel free to correct me with a legit article if you would like that proves my statement wrong.

im no ttrying to be a douche but i think you have aquired some false information and need to go do some reading and straighten your facts out.

Take a peek at this one:

"Weed control is often STARTED with addition of molasses to tie-up the excess nitrate helping to set the stage in the soil to grow weeds, and not the plants you want to grow."

http://www.thesoilguy.com/SG/Molasses

In short, the article confirms you can intentionally lockout N 4/common weed control.

I learned something new today.:-P

I used molasses all threw my last grow and saw no difference. Not using it again plus many nutes already have it in them.

I use blackstrap molasses every third feeding after the flowers show in 12/12. Never seen buds blow up like this before however got co2 dialed at the same time so the effect was 2x...

It was probably more the Co2 than the molasses but Blackstrap is what you need to be using if you are going to add it to you nutes. Bontanicare make a good Blackstrap molasses.

I use molasses with every watering during my 2 week flush. 1 tbsp per gallon. This grow I replaced the molasses with bud candy. I see allot more sticki ickiness and frost.

its a verry common misconception that molasses adds resin and flavor to the buds and makes them swell. it dosent. plants dont process glucose.

I beg to differ. I broke out a bud of a blue dream grow to show a friend and
he said he smelt a tinge of molasses in the bud and I said that is funny
cause I used molasses in my grow. He actually smelt it in the bud which totally
surprised me cause I never told him I used molasses before he smelt the bud.

I've used it in flower and saw no added benefits. It did however, turn my leaves yellow. I also am running an organic medium. I now use it to help foam up my teas. That's it!

Same here, less the yellowing. Now I need to find a use for the rest of the molasses!

I have seen her dropping all kinds of mis information. Telling people to chop there plant and put it in a dwc for a few days to flush it. People are so stupid sometimes.

I agree- especially those who go around flaming & trolling with no good reason and without having THEIR facts straight..
Calling people names etc. is the sign of a small mind and someone trying to make themselves feel better about their own ignorance by calling others "Stupid"....

I do not go around telling people to chop down their plants and put them in DWC...
An "Emergency flush " Can be done and DOES work ... IF someone is growing in soil with chemical fertilizers and forgot to flush before the plant was ready to harvest--
we have done it side-by side with plants not flushed and it makes a huge difference--

I didn't just pull this out of my Ass (as you seem to) but was taught by several breeders back in the 90's- and this was their option for 'emergencies only"..

The plants continue to uptake even after being cut-- Hence the ability to take clones...
and by using DWC, you oxygenate the water so the plant doesn't drown...

But hey- you wanna smoke miracle grow and other chemical crap in your un-flushed weed- you go right on ahead... but there are newbies who could use the info to their benefit regardless of your personal opinions...

And go ahead-- keep calling people "stupid' for no reason other than the fact that you have apparent issues-- You are the one looking like an ass.... and an ass-kisser for "RetiredMattTheBrute"

As for the Molasses/Carbs issue--
During veg- the carbs feed the microbes that help the plant uptake... Too much, and it locks it up.....
During flower, the carbs (broken down by the soil) are used by the plant....
I'll pose the same query to you--
PLEASE- if I have been taught wrong ( a Botany Class at GVSU and the same breeders I mentioned before) then PLEASE show me I am wrong--
I'd LOVE to save the $$ I've been spending on SWEET and Sucanat all these years.....

Well ive been using molasses for about 8yrs now and put out some grade a candy. Nobody ever said to me yet it smelled or tasted likd molasses. I use it from the start to the finish. Nevet let me down yet.

What about using molasses with coco coir that may have a little soil on top because i had nothing else around to cover the roots that were showing so i grabbed some dirt from another plant that was growing in soil. Maybe just a little while flushing before harvest?

Emergency flush, LMFAO

here is a simple diagram, maybe you can see the stupidity of your statements if you study it. if not LMK and i'll school you;
