I asked the same question a while back and this was the answer that almost everybody gave:

Grandma's Molasses All Natural, Unsulphured-- use 2 tablespoons of molassess per 1 gallon of water.

Good luck to you.

Grandma's Molasses is great. It can be purchased @ Walmart for around two fifty a jar. I use it all the way to harvest. One tablespoon per gallon of water

Molasses is used to supply some simple sugars and micro nutrients like sulpher, magnesium, iron etc. Epsome salts will give calcium and magnesium as well as other micros. If you use epsom salt dont get the shit you soak ur feet in, go to some place like lowes or a garden store and get the salts for gardening. As far a molasses goes I use bryer Rabbit in the green jar, its never done me wrong and is found at wallyworld, although its sometimes hard to find b/c all the growers buy it up as soon as it hits the shelves.

thanks dubious06 good info.https://www.rollitup.org/members/dubious06-258567.html

and as for you bigbudE this is what i found in a post by videoman40 This is from high times. ...."We did an experiment about 10 years ago and found that buds swell about 20% when sugar is added to irrigation water during the last four weeks of flowering. The sugar could also be enhanced with other flavors, but the flavors don't always come through as a notable taste when the weed is smoked.

The grandma's molasses is not blackstrap. It is second boil so basically it has the same amount of carbohydrates as blackstrap but a much lower concentration of potassium (K) and micros. That may or may not be a good thing depending on your fertilizer situation and what week you are in.

My guess is that grandmas would be best during the last few weeks of flowering because it provides carbs to feed the beneficial microorganisms in the soil without all the extra K. The blackstrap should be best for use during veg and early and mid flowering.

The best blackstrap I have seen is by Wholesome Sweeteners - Organic Blackstrap Unsulphured. There is another brand called Plantation and they have blackstrap in organic and non organic version.

If you aren't running an organic grow then I am not sure the carbs will have any effect, the purpose is to feed the microorganisms not to "sweeten" the bud as we might think.

I use blackstrap molasses at 1ml/liter (~1 tsp/gal) every other watering but still experimenting with the amount because my fertilizer (BMO) already has blackstrap in it.
