Moisture Meters

I'm headed out to buy some of these but i was wondering if you put them in every plant? or is just having one good enough since they'll all be watered the same time and under the same light?

HUmmmmm what are you buying?? If it's a regular moisture meter than you only need one to check all your pots. If you leave them in the soil they become unreliable.

I found my moisture meter to be unreliable. I have two, one is just a moisture meter and one is a moisture/ph/light meter. I find that just checking with my finger for soil moisture works way better. Sometimes my moisture meter would say dry a day after watering, and on the other side it would say too moist when the soil was bone dry all the way down. If your environment stays the same watering/feeding should become like clockwork. Good luck!

Really? i read all over this forum that moisture meters were the way to go, was going to go to home depot and pick a couple up ... well then, I'll just stick to the original plan of checking em manually

Yeah my moisture meter was pretty reliable but i quickly stopped using it because like rocpliefsj said above if your environment stays the same it does become like clockwork, plus after a while you can simply tell by the look of the plant and weight of the pot - and I just completed my first grow. Id say good pH meter is the way to go
