Moist Rockwool?

Hi everyone,
me again! I've been doing tons to reviewing and no threads so that's why nobody's seen me (not that anyone should really know me). I was jst going to wait my situation out and see what happens but i'm dying for some feedback. I'm a first timer when it comes to using rockwool. I've been following these steps.

1) Soak rckwl in 6.0 ph'd water with drop of superthrive for 24 hrs.

2) Let dry for abt half a day than plant my germed seeds in it. ( I try to make sure my cubes are not saturated)

3) When the seed sprouts I let them try to push outa the shell (give em abt 3 days) If they can't i gently help them out.

4) Usually water once a day. I have overwatered them in the past, but now i try to guage by lifting the cubes.

Do these steps sound ok? My older plant is fine (by fine i mean not yellow and alive... i'm not too picky in my learning phase:blsmoke:) , but the new seedlings r yellowing like they've been overwatered. They've been grwing about 14 days. Plants r on their early second nodes. Root growth looks good. Could i be handling them too much? I move them closer to the light every day and back under their mini green house at night. I don't own a camera, so sorry abt the lack of pictures. Any comments appreciated. Peace,:joint:

Oh yeah! What's the deal with the + reps? Do i have to go to someones page and click on their vb experience or somthng to give them + reps. Do i need to make more posts before i can do this? I checked the support but i'm missing somthng. Thanks for your time:weed:

I just soaked the rockwool in fresh pHed water, shook out the excess water, dropped the seed in, and gently covered the hole of the rockwool by pushing the top layer of rockwool over the hole.

Just click on the scale at the upper right hand corner of someone's post and you can up their rep.

How big of rockwool cubes are you using - 1 1/2" starter cubes?
You should not have to water a seedling in rockwool for 4 -5 days - you are probably overwatering.

I'm using the 2 inch starters and i jst found out my roomy didn't water them for around 3 days when i was away. He just soaked them the day before i came back. We also lost electricity while i was gone . damn!

I am growing in rockwool for the first time also, and finding it very easy to overwater the cubes when the plants are young. The rockwool retains the water sooooo well.

I also had green algae growing on top of the cubes before covering up with a paper plate.
