I'm conflicted. I have my doctor's rec and intended to go with mmj but I'm not sure if I should go thru with it. I'm not sure if I want to put my name on a list I've spent a lifetime avoiding being on. With a PPL here in NM does the man come to your house and check if you're in compliance? What's the downside of having mmj?

Right on the guns. I was just mainly wanting cover for my grow. I would like to know if they come to your house and check you out but don't know where to go for that info. I'm not sending in anything until I'm sure this is how I want to go.

thats so un-american to say you cant smoke pot and own firearms, unconstitutional!!! our forefathers give you permission

The New Mexico Health Department Cannabis Program is soooo backed up. They are taking up to 90 days to process paperwork. I highly suggest becoming legal. They do not come to your residence to approve or check up on their patients. FYI....... so far the medicine at the only provider in southern nm is GARBAGE and expensive. They require that you place an order for your meds. How am I supposed to order something I have not seen? They also charge 15/g all the way up. Thats 420 an ounce. UNREAL! I do feel better knowing I am legal. I can medicate away from my home if necessary.

Thanks for your reply, trader. Yours is the only input I've had on whether or not they come knocking and I'm grateful for it. I'd have to be pretty desperate to pay $400 for an ounce of pot. Okay, I've got a decision to make.

I'm tired of playing games and jumping through hoops. Too much of a racket going on here in NM. And I've heard if you can manage to get through the backlog and get a card, there aren't enough meds for all. Colorado is close, Denver is the epicenter...a garden of earthly delights.

Sounds about right for NM. When I was there the motto was pretty much "if you aren't growing your own, you're fucked". Funny you mention a backlog to get a card...last time I was there, my buddy had an alibi on his coffee table...flipped it over and almost the entire back page was ads for places that are able to get you an mmj card quick. Maybe check some of those out?...

mmjtrader is a little outdated in his information. The Nm DOH is not "backed up" and no longer takes 90 days to process they only take 35 days from the day they receive it. Now the oz are anywhere from $200-$400 an oz depending on what Producer you get it from. I personally get from a wonderful Producer who is like an old Hippie from Amsterdam.. lol the medication is wonderful and only $10 a gram for ALL strains and gives you a free gram for every strain you order 3 or more grams of. NM BRIEF RELIEF are the ones who helped me get on the program and they were the cheapest in Albq also. there web is www.nmbriefrelief.com (505) 433-1773 if theirs is any information you need they will know the right up-to date information for you.

No major delay here for use or grow card. No black helicopters circling the house.

Heard from a dispensary that they are limited on the number of plants they can grow. It sounded like the state controls the number of plants grown. Lots of folks signed up for grow cards and don't grow. The dispensaries can't fill the gap because the state thinks all these people growing at home. It's a issue with the law that needs to change. Of course nothing will change until we get a new Gov that actually wants to keep the program.
