Mixing light?

I have been reading on here that some people take their plants outdoors on bright days for some good rays, I was under the impression that if you did that it risked throwing off the light cycle or more so the different spectrum of light wouldn't be good since they have been in artificial light? any thoughts on this?

I have put my plants in direct sunlight when there are blue skies not had any for a while. I haven't noticed anything negative about it. If anything i think it does them some good coz they looked a bit healthier after getting some Sunlight.
