Mixed nutes?

I read @ people using multiple (2-3) kids of nute in the same mix? Is this alternating or does one take EXAMPLE: 1 part Fox Farm Grow Big, 2 parts Liquid seaweed, 1 part tiger bloom.? I just use 1 kind of nutes with water every 3rd watering. Just curious if one can mix nutes together and why?

alot of nute lines require several additives. they do it to make more money. eg. a grow with n and a little k but no p or micros, a bloom with p and k but no n or micros, then a micro with no npk and missing cal/mag (maybe something else as well). then 1-3 bottles of adds to get whatevers missing. + maybe a sweetener or something thats just a $30 bottle of suger. i mean seriously no one is going to go out and spend $400 on one bottle of fert that has everything a plant needs, but, split it into 4-7 bottles and you can sucker tons of ppl out of $3-400 easy.

While I agree entirely you could buy plant food from other places then hydro shops, and it will contain everything you need.

Also check before you buy what's in it. E.g most will say complete plant food with micro nutrients. If it doesn't dont buy it.

Imo it's all the add ons that cost the earth, and mostly do nothing. E.g if your nutes have all micro nutes, buying a bottle of only say calmag will just increase the already balanced formula and lead to further knockouts.

Just stick with your a and b formula

#if anyone has done a test to actually see if these products really work I'll shut my pie hole
