Mites I assume...

I flipped one of my babies and saw a web coming from two of the first fan leafs in the same section and they're probably 3 or so inches apart. I destroyed the web and looked my hardest for anything but saw nothing.. I'm going to get a magnifying glass tomorrow but what i thought was one baby was nothing but a burnt spot and i sprayed them down pretty hefty but i feel like if there was two different webs they've crawled up the plant... Any suggestions??

Mite webs are not like some might imagine. It sounds like you may have had some random strands of web from a common spider. Easy way to spot mite webs is to mist your plants with fine water spray from underneath the leaves. A cool mist humidfier works perfect for this. After misting, turn off the lights and shine a flashlight (LED works best) on all areas of the plant. Any mite webbing will have collected tiny droplets of water mist, causing them to illuminate easily with the light. Also, mites are about the size of the period at the end of this sentence making them very hard for some to see.

I'm in the 5280 as well is this common? It was one strand on the top and 3 or so connecting to one on the bottom and it seemed like it was leading down to the drain holes of the pot. Do other flashlights work as well though because i can do that with a regular one or get a little something to enhance my view tomorrow.

Sounds like regular old comon spider to me based on that description. Mites are more more like finely woven silk blankets, not just a few strands. A few random strands doesn't sound like mites. Incedentally, if you have spider mites and webs, you will know it as your plants leaves will show tell tale signs, but often after they are already at infestation level. A good hand held magnifier should help you look for tiny dots, and see if they move.

Yeah it looked like it was starting to weave a nice little road for itself. I had what I believe to be a mag deficiency and that tore apart the first few fan leaves they're brown/yellow/torn and i was looking really hard and saw one had a tiny tiny hole in it do they like to eat little holes or just suck from the plant? Also can they spawn from dead leaves? should i chop whats dead off?
