I believe i read somewhere on here that mirrors are bad because they can concentrate light and can cause your plants excessive heat.

I have used morrors in the by rubbing a little vaseline on them. This way you still the reflective ability, but you fifuse the light so no hot spots.

You can use morrors though with floros with no hot spots at all however.

Mirrors are very ineficient at reflecting light compared to mylar. Every knowledgable grower will tell you not to use mirrors for growing

LOL....Just keep repeating the "don't use mirrors" crap. Man try the mirrors out CiderSpy, they may work great for you. And yes they are extremely efficient at reflecting light, thats why NASA uses them and every communication device needing a relfective surface is made of mirror. Oh wait maybe I missed the whole NASA using mylar in space satelite thing.

I like the idea of the mirror, they look nice and easy to clean.
I'm reading more on reflective properties and a mirror is not the best, Mylar is.
I get metalized polyester from work witch is basicly mylar just thiner. I have the walls coverd in the shit now.
But is the best, allways what you should use?
My mylar and metalized polyester are getting water spots scratching aslo lowers it reflective propertys.

So every grow guide ever written is wrong? The charts that show that mylar reflect more light than mirrors are wrong?

mylar will allways be the best but mirrors reflect as much light as flat white paint, which is about 65% so id say they would be ok just a little more expensive than the paint.

Maybe every guide YOU ever read. And FYI mirror is 95% reflective. But I'm not going to argue with you. You tried to talk shit in your first post in response to me and thats cool. Do not waist your money on mirror, mirrors do not spread the light even, it shoots back like a pistol in a straight stream, you want to spread it like a shot gun to cover more area. If you what to use 12x12 tiles for the walls buy cheap vinyl flooring tiles, white glossy that will work much better and clean up just as easy.

The problem with mirrors isn't that they don't reflect, or that they create hot spots (never even heard that) - the problem is that they actually absorb light, more so than mylar or white paint.

Your question is ridiculous, and I use FLAT WHITE PAINT NOT GLOSSY AS YOU PURPOSED, and I also use MIRRORS.

Maybe you should read Richard Feynmans' book on mirrors. Might help you with your knowledge a bit.
