Mini split advice

How many btu for a minisplit that would work efficiently for up to 25 lights? Or say 600sqf? 25 lights can light up 600sqf, right?

Any brands to stay away from?

What are reliable brands?

Any info and recommendations appreciated, thanks

What size lights are you using to fit 25 in 600 square feet??
Well, the room is a bit bigger, but I think there's approx 600sqf not including walkways I can use, was thinking ac/DE 1150w possibly, but maybe just regular DE 1150w. I'd like an ac that would handle that when the time comes, but for now I won't be running that many lights, but when the time comes I'd hate to have gotten too small of a cooling unit.

I figure 4x6' space per light, with 2' walkways between rows possibly?

A three ton does my friends room thats 700 sq feet. It has six lights. Im sure they make bigger ones but id suggest just looking into a central air unit for a house.
Ahh right on, I was hoping a mini split could work because the prices looked great :( about 5000btu per light it seems then? I'll check out some central units, I know those things are Hella expensive though compared to the mini split so that bums me out, last I looked they were running around $8k ugh.

The three ton installed was 3500.

Oh and if you do get a mini split. You have to clean the inside wall units fan like every six months or itll cake with mold in high humidity! If the installer doesnt tell you because they never do, dont forget this. Or the unit will only last you a year and a half before it shits the bed. The installers dont know this happens because theyre not used to them being used in such humid circumstances. Just dont forget. And its one of those things you probably want to get installed by a pro, and before you fill the room ;)

Totally awesome info bro, thanks!! :) definitely will have a pro install it because I have no clue about anything ac or heat related, and will definitely get someone over before I put anything up. I'm in the process of buying a house so if it goes through, we picked a 30 day escrow to give me time to veg my plants at my rental and get things ready at the new place, so doing all my homework now :p been building the room in my head for a while and have the design set but there's so much more to it than scribbling down what I want it to look like lol, thank God for this forum

5000BTU is for regular 1000w bulbs.

DE prouduce more heat than the normal hps.

How much do you need I dont know, but the DE prouduce more heat for sure.

Dude? Why you no text me about this? I know this shit homey.
Go with 6k btu per 1150w de fixture. Works fantastic for our climate.
And why minisplit? Just because everyone in this forum thinks they are the best thkng since sliced bread, a regular ol' split system/s is where it's at for larger setups.
Rudys cousin is an hvac dude, and he is trusted to do the hookup. I can install, but not all the other shit they need to initially do;-)

Holler at me today when you get up. We were on the golf course until dark time yesterday, didin't see your texts til just now:-D

Sounds like you have your work cut out for ya and a lot of cash to save. Id say around 20k unless you have most of the stuff you need already. A couple important things some people forget about with rooms that size are water in and out. Plumbing in water is super easy. But if you have no way to remove water from the room you could be in for a lot of bucket carrying which sucks. If you can find an old mop sink theyre really sturdy and low to the ground. Makes it good for dehus because the dehu doesnt have to be up really high off the ground. Which brings me to the other thing people over look on the reg. Dehumidifiers. You'll likely need a commercial dehu or two. My buddy runs a 180 pt commercial and a 70 pt home depot job and that does the trick. The 70 couldnt keep up. The 180 pt could probably keep up but it wont get the rh down to 40%. 45 maybe. With high temps and high inside rh, and low temps outside, your walls inside will sweat, which leads to mold in insulation and everywhere else, even buds.

Right on, it doesn't have to be a mini split, whatever works best and most efficient is all I'm after, I checked out some central ac units, 35kbtu for around 2000 so that's not bad at all, awesome to know you know a hvac guy :)

For sure, I've been planning for a while now and have the money saved up, well most of it anyway, I will need to get a good dehumidifier though as I only have a small one right now. The good thing is the room has hot/cold water hookups and a drain since it's a laundry room off from the garage, but in the same room, it doesn't have a wash sink but that would be easy to add since the water lines are already in place. it's a finished garage which is nice because it has cement floors so there's not much to worry about with random messes. It's also insulated and sheet rocked. I definitely want everything done right as to not lower the value of the house since it's a huge investment for me, so I want it all done proper and not look shoddy

Nice, looks good. Get the lights first, a/c then the dehu  the good ones are over a grand, and if you run banana plants not popcorns, they can mold real fast after week 4 of flower with 65% rh. I just had a friend who i told to get one and his harvest all got peckered.

I would go in this order
air system first
watering system then adjust the lights on ur pots and system

Then everything elase..
