Mimosa x Orange Punch (Day 44)

Greetings,

I am currently running some Mimosa x Orange punch with the following:
1. 3x3 Mars Hydro tent
2. Viparspectra KS-3000
3. 4" AC Infinity
4. FoxFarm Ocean Forest soil
5. GH nutrient Micro, Grow, Bloom W/ Fox Farm Soluble trio, Dimond Nectar, Armor Si, and Cal Magic at 50%. Water, feed, water

I am currently in day 44 1/2 and wanted some opinions. The strain goes out 55-60 days but things are looking almost finished. I am thinking about flushing but I'm not 100% sure. Any tips would be great. This is my first run in 8 years.

You have weeks to go.

1. Never rely on breeder estimates or hype. They lie. Plant finishes when it finishes.
2. Heavy pistil growth still - they need to mature and recede.
3. Not sure why you are throwing a GH “ TRIO “ on top of a Fox Farm “ trio” . That is overkill.
4. Early fading on all fans - she is hangry.
5. Water - if using city water - No Calmag needed. Excess Calmag is for some reason the latest issue around here.
Too much calcium interferes with good nutrient uptake - leading to problems.
6. Sweeteners are unnecessary.
7. Fox Farm soil is already highly nuted right from the bag. It can run weeks before showing exhaustion.
You could literally just top dress more soil into container and water that in. No guessing , no BS.
Plant would already be acclimated to it plus you are not shoving every brand if nute down its throat.

Worse case - plant throws in towel before full maturity. Roots swimming in salts , etc.

Agreed

Understood, I was thinking the same

3. Not sure why you are throwing a GH “ TRIO “ on top of a Fox Farm “ trio” . That is overkill.
I am using the GH Trio for the base nutrients, and then using the FF soluble during flower. Basically I replaced the Grow Big, Big Bloom, and Tiger Bloom with the GH line. I has a lot left over and didn't want to waste it.

4. Early fading on all fans - she is hangry.
Im feeding at 900ppm currently, I will bump it up. I was a little worried with the burned tips.

5. Water - if using city water - No Calmag needed. Excess Calmag is for some reason the latest issue around here.
Im using RO water currently. I will cut back.

Too much calcium interferes with good nutrient uptake - leading to problems.

6. Sweeteners are unnecessary. I will remove the sweetener the next feed.

7. Fox Farm soil is already highly nuted right from the bag. It can run weeks before showing exhaustion.

During Veg I only use water, and I still get a little burning. I might go routes organic when I start my next Veg systole.

I try to shoot for 20% runoff, I will shoot for more. At this stage is it a good idea to continue the water, feed, water cycle?

Everything he said but with respects to water & cal/mag when I switched to LED(hlg and Hortilux es), I noticed that I have to ph my water and get it down and I do find it still needs cal/mag(I use AN, I also use FF trio in FFOF and I add AN BB and Overdrive for years). This is at finish of 9 weeks(Orange Jello=Mandarina x Rose water Cookies left and middle and Honeybee right) so "similar".They get pulled at 9 weeks I have run it for years under both lights. I went through the same fade as you and it was because I was treating them like HID plants and they are not. I also find that feed more. Just my .02...give her a little tic and she will be fine. good looking plants.IMG_6664.jpeg

What PH are you getting them down to in the soil? What PPM are you hitting them with?

This is my first LED Grow. I was using the old school MH/HPS in 2014. What are the major differances in the grow when using the LED? I have noticed that the light needs to be a little further away.

My res is ph water to under 6.5 and zerotol when refilling res per directions. I hand feed separately and ph water at start before adding nutes. In first five weeks they sometimes feed three times every 10 days. Temps 79 -81° rh below 50%

Do you have a jewelers loupe? Or a USB cam? U can find them fairly cheap online or at a local grow store, it's a necessary tool to really guage whether the trichs are where you want them.

I don't have one, but I can get one. I was hoping to take a good picture with my phone camera

Im about to post an update. The leaves are getting dry. I found out that my ppm meter was setting me up for failure so I just ordered an EC20.

I know it's an old topic, but I'm running the same strain from barneys. Doing a little cheeky closet grow plus I didn't manage to get the correct height of the plant, but the flowers look and smell AMAZING. One month into flowering.

Very nice. She stayed very short for me. I am currently trying out the MimosaxPunch, and have some ILGM WW in veg.

Definitely running this strain again in future. For now I'll do some grows just to practice SCROG (which seems like a good idea for my limited space) and next time will aim for bigger yield and better looking plant in late flowering. But pretty happy with how it's going.

@Edward84 have you harvested your buds yet? It's been a while. Wanna hear more on how the nugs taste and smell :)
