I ordered some melon seeds from burpee's and they gave me afew free ounces of this bio-tone stuff that introduces 3.8M colony forming units per soil pound.
With about 20 different bacteria cultures. Anyone have an opinion on this stuff? seems a great little add-on to work in tandem with molasses.

Name is espoma plant-tone organic 5-3-3

Those are compost cultures which are also known as benificial bacteria. They break down dead material and convert it into usable nutrients for your plants. They also kill pathogens and make life uncomfortable for bugs that eat your live plants.

Using nutrients will harm the bacteria.

I hope that helps.

Does it kill them all? I only plan on lightly nuting with miracle grow stuff once a week.Making a layered mound for the plants to be growing in and I think this owuld make an awesome 2nd layer.

It may not kill them alll. I honestly dont know the exact physiology of the effects of nutes on composting bacteria, but i do know they hate salt and you never want to add fertilizers to compost.
Throw it in, if worse comes to worst, it will have no effect. Best case scenerio, they really rev up vegetative growth and you get some big ass plants.
