Yeah, I don't think i'm gonna use any kind of nutes since i can't seem to get a good idea on when/how so i'm gonna go nuteless myself for this grow since its my first also ... next grow i'll experiment on a couple plants ... all i'm looking for here is a success story and some bud from that story ... there doing well if they'd stop growing into the lights before i can move um lol .... learning alot which is the main goal of your first grow i'd believe ... not expecting whats coming next and being in the blind make it rough ... GL on your grow ..

Having a hard time with sexing, i believe your right on the "runt" as i think he's male ... he's got a ball on the top 2 nodes branches with no pistil's coming out ... the largest plant and the sickest looking plant both have the pear type shape but with only one pistil "just more leaf growth????" ... i tried so hard to take pictures but for some reason i get close to the plant the damn camara goes all blurry .... i took the plant i think was male out and is sitting in the tub till some replies ... HELP!! =]

There's 3 ... gonna give it a few more days ... if i see multiple balls its obviously male ... i have a feeling they all are, cept the runt who could perhaps be hermie.

allright, i guess this is the part of being new that i get people laughing at me ... but here goes, I can't get those node shots ... i can't figure out the wifes camara for closeup's ... but my largest plant with large stem and tall as hell has atleast 2 balls/pods currently on the top 2-3 nodes ... nothing coming out of them, just balls ... he's male ? i'd say yes ... the next two are smaller, but the one is alot more bushier but they both have single what i thought were balls, but today they started showing flowers coming out and the smaller ones lower now have a single flower tip type thing coming out of them ... both plants show the same thing ... are they female ? .... I know its extremely hard to say yeah or no and i've read the faq on sexing .... but i seem to still be confused when looking ... if its male, nothing should be coming out of the "ball" and could i just be new to think the "ball" on the females was just a pre-flower? .... and since it being there's atleast 2 balls on the largest plant i can safetly assume he's male ....

Balls in numbers of atleast 2-4 on each node made obviously believe they were males ... so i destroyed 2 outta the 3 ... the third has pear shaped type with what looks like one hair coming out slowly .... no balls on any nodes so far and as females show late ... i'm hoping its a she.

Greetings,

Been awhile since i posted here ... As i posted before on my first attempt i lost 2 outta 3 to males ... the female i nearly lost during the early weeks of december ... Yellow leaves and just real sick looking ... I wasn't sure what to do but decided on giving her some nutes, 8-14-9 ... Some Schultz African violet plus from home depot, i figured the numbers were low enough i couldn't do too much harm .... and in my lack of experiance went with it, well ... it turned the plant around 100% .... her leaves are up higher than ever ... her loss of color has stoped, not sure its reversed, but its stop'd ... and her buds are looking like there starting to puff up on the plant ...

I know the pics are pretty bad, but there better than nothing to show .... so here goes ...

This is the top of the plant "cola" .... its getting huge ... but within my limits.

Trying to get a good shot, i took this one in the dark with a flashlight quick before putting it back to light "she just woke up" ... thought it looked cool.

Good idea, prolly would allow more light to those lower nodes .... Problem at this point "7 weeks into flower" that the stem is very thick and just doesn't wanna bend ... unless i mount the entire plant sideways ... so i'll keep that in mind if only 1 or 2 veg into females ... thanks. =]

She's starting to get pretty stinky now when i open up there tubs ... and more an more sugar "trichs" are showing everyday .... I can't wait ... looks like i might actually get some homegrown on my first attempt ...

yeah, side lighting a plus. I'd start the nutes out slow, and whenever. Use a smaller amount than called for and you should be fine. They look really healthy. Keep posting.
