so i was wondering if i could set up a shallow water hydro set up with a coffee can and some mg fert 15,30,15 with an air stone in the bottom of the coffee can would this work just wondering if it is possible to much spare mg fert lying around want to get rid of it

it will work just make sure if you see problems lay off the mg

well its gonna be 1/2 strength for a gallon so like 1/2 tbsp per gallon ok man thanks for the input want to start a couple trainwrek seeds hydro swc

swc???do you mean dwc?i would recommend you get better fert/nutes for good seeds..

shallow water culture and all it is bag seeds i had that i will be trying this with other wise yeah way better nutrients

yes you want it on at all times so your roots are getting oxygen

anyone does the air pump have to be runnin 24/7 or is it ok if its on with the lights 12/12 cycle

24/7 all the time dwc pump gotta keep water aerated for roots

this really wouldnt be considered dwc its like 2 inches of water and sorry bout the last com i got a gay ass computer didnt show all the replies only the first 3 or 4

I've done DWC with rubbermaid totes and 12" air stone strips. You can throw one together from walmart for under $45 bucks. Only thing I had to order was the net pots. Never tried swc. I Have used a shorter rubbermaid (Cowboy Boot Box size) for a makeshift bubble cloner, it worked great. I used the Technaflora BC series nutes, you can get the starter kit called "recipe for success" for under $35 shipped and would recommend that hands down over MG. Only reason I use MG 3 month soil is becuase it's cheap, but I cut mine 50/50 with perlite. Good luck with your grow!

if the coffee contanor is metal you might want to worie about it rusting and harming your plant

if you use this swc or especially dwc grow...how do you determine what your water level should be...right at the bottom of the net cups...half way to net cups...3/4 to net cups?

thanx for the input people and its one of the flavorlock cans all plastic and the only reason im using mg is cuz im flat broke with like 12 cents to my name had to pay $1500 possesion fine
