MG Def ?

Hi fellas :)

I don't like to ask but i could do with a bit of advise :)

2nd Grow and just starting a batch of new clones

27 day old clones that have been rockin since i rooted them , Befor the weekend i repotted them in Air Pots , Used the exact same process i have used in the past and that worked better than expected , The Clones have been responding real well and looking great ...

Untill Yesterday i noticed a kind of Bronze tinge to the lower leaves ... very slight but you could see it , I never got to excited about it and just put it down to maybe some transplant shock or a bit of burn from the feed i gave them after putting them in the new pots .

Today i woke up at 5am with it on my mind so decided to come take a look ... its getting worse  , Looks a lot like MG deficiency ... but this is my first experience with it so i Did a bit of digging around ... Hard to say as some of the pics in discriptions i have found are conflicting ... But im sticking with MG def untill i find out more .

So i guess its now about finding out exactly what it is and treating it .

Thing is ... I don't understand how it could happen a i did the exact same process of repotting as i have done befor ... been useing the same nutrient formula and measurments

So im a bit confused . I'm not gonna let it get to me ... i NEED this grow to go well but my concern is for the plant and making them happy again

Any input is welcomed and will be rewarded

Thanks in advance

Bit of Background .

Under a 125 w CFL 18/6
Nutes : Canna
Medium Canna Coco Pro
Temps : Normal
Feeding Prior to transplant : 1/4 mil Canna Rhizotonic to 1ltr of PHed water 5-7 Uesed the 1 ltr to feed all 6 in small pots

Coco prepped in new pots befor transplant : Watered the Coco in the new pots with 1/4 mil Rhizotonic Phed water 5-7 left the pots under the light for a few hours then transplanted the clones into them .

All was good for a few days untill i noticed the bronzeing .

If you need any more info fire away :)

What kind of soil, lights, and how far,nutes...little more info
Ph 5-7? kinda off or are you just guessing
Leaves are curling up, dehydrated leaves- heat temp?Normal?
Burnt tips...from last feed?

Mg/cal def. All's I can think of...

haha yeah i thought i better add some background ... Its early and i was not thinking straight :) ( Look up :) )

The Ph is exact at 5.7 and has been my number with my last grow from clone to flower .

Pretty much everythign is the same as i have done befor ... everything im useing ..nutes medium .. lights ... All the same ... And never seen the bronze on the leafs befor .

Thanks for looking in :)

5.7 could be a problem..

What do you recomend ?

I know some nutes get locked out if to high ot low ... But thats been my range for my last grow from clones and had no ill effects ,

They are still pretty damp from the watering i gave the pots ... should i dry out and flush with higher ph and Rhizo ? or just do it now ?

the bronzeing you refer to does it turn them almost white?... I used the same water for severall grows and this summer i all the sudden started haveing the same problem as you are. I tested my water and it was at a 5.o, my plants were looking horrible so i raised it to 6.8 and they returned to that lush green. That really looks like the same thing except my leaves were turning white.

6.5-6.8 ideal Ph for soil at 5.7 you are locking out nutes so no matter how much you feed they will show signs of def.

Is it Same strain or diff?

Thanks for helping out ...it's appriciated :)

I have been useing regular tap water ... normaly about 8.2 and i PH down to 5-7 5.8 after adding nutes , My other grow is in mid flowr right now and is as green an lush as i have seen .

Not yet seen any white but this has only just started over the last day or so ... So i will keep an eye on it :)

Think i can head it off by flushing with a higher PH with a low dose of nutes ?

Thanks again :)

Hi ya :)

Exact same strain ... clones are 27 days old and have been doing really well up till now .. i will post some shots of the other grow from clone and where its at now ...and then the clones that are having trouble ... befor and after

First 9 pics are the new clones ... the others are from the other grow of the same strain from clone ... Start to almost finished

( RiU is having trouble understanding that i need my pics in order :) )

Had trouble with them when i got them they had been ill treated but went on to be pretty good

I Guess the real Question thats on my mind is ... Can they bounce back from this ? ... or is this a sign of the start of a load of problems ?
lol

They will bounce right back. I would definitely lower ph to min 6.3 max 6.7. I would also give them a quick flush and spray with the correct ph water without nutes.

In that pic 4 i dont like the pot with many holes .. it look like p.h. locked up nutes and burn all tip leaves ... If the ph lower than 6.0 it force plants eat eat and eat .. if ph at 6.5 it medium feeding .. that what i belive in .. just use water for a while till leaves back to normal ..... good luck

Thank you for the advice :)

This is my FIRST ever plant problem hahah

I have a feeling i know what it might be now ... the only one thing i did different , When i filled the pots ... i flushed the Coco befor i transplanted the plants into it .... I was told by a Canna Rep that some of the Coco contains traces of salt ... But i think he was refering to Coco coir ... I was not taking any chances ... so i flushed it prior to potting .... It may have been the case that the water was un ballenced ... then i sat the plants in it ... Back filled them ... and then watered the Coco with my feed that i had made up .

Im thinking that the feed may have gon on top and down the sides of the soil on the cuttings .... but never made it to the underneth .

It really is the only thing i did that was diffrent .... My PH has been 5.7 - 5.8 for the whole of my last grow with zero bad effects .

I will flush them again tonight with 6.3 and a bit of Rhizotonic and then see how that goes :)

Thanks for your help :)

Hi ya Warpig :)

Thank you :)

You don't l;ike my Air pots ? ... heheh your crazy :)

Take a look at this video :)

http://www.superoots.com/air_intro.htm

After i root my clones in them for a couple of weeks i will double pot them like this
..DoublePottingWithAir-Pot.jpg

This way i have a massive rootball , No Transplant shock and the whole of the lower pot is empty for the roots to fill ... They go CRAZY :)

Thanks for the advice :)
