so i was given 2 175 watt metal halide bulbs( says Multi Vapor) and i kinda want to know if these are any good to me ? how to use them? do i need a ballast or anything else?or is it better to stick with my cfls? and any other questions others can come up with . so feel free to leave a answer or a question. and if anyone can provide links of info already on rollitup.

how much are ballasts ? i live in canada. do they plug into wall then wire lights to it? can i use 2 lights on one ballast
 
you need a ballast for each bulb and the ballast do plug directly into the wall (you also need the light socket to connect the bulb and ballast)
 
ballasts can be anywhere from $60-$200+ depending on wattage and if its a regular or digital ballast. not too sure on canadas pricing but im sure its around the same
