mercury vapor light?

could i use a mercury vapor light for my plants they are about 3 weeks old and right now im using flourescents but i have a 175 watt mercury vapor light and was wonderin if it would work , im new to growing so hopefully you guys can help me out with the stuff im unsure of thanks

MV lamps summed up suck ass for growing MJ. They produce way to much heat and actually only give off a little bit of the light spectrum that MJ acutally uses. Hopes this helps man...

it coulnt hurt hps lights give off a lot of heat im sure it would help a lil
