Mendo Thai and Mystery Seeds Grow#2

I HAVE FINALY DECIDED TO MAKE A JOURNAL. IT HAS BEEN JUST OVER ONE WEEK SINCE THEY CRACKED THE SURFACE. MY BOX IS 25"WIDE X 16"DEEP X 36" TALL. MY LIGHTING CONSISTS OF 3 26W 6K CFLS AT THE MOMENT. I AM USING SUPERSOIL POTTING MIX AND PERALITE AT A 60-40% RATIO. TEMPS TEND TO GET A LITTLE LOW SOMTIMES IN TO THE MID 60'S I AM HAVING A PROBLEM WITH HUMIDITY BEING TOO LOW. RIGHT NOW THE PLANTS ARE IN 12OZ CUPS SO I HAVE TO WATER ABOUT EVERY 2 DAYS. EVERY TIME I WATER I USE 150ML OF PH 6.5 TAP WATER. MY PLAN IS TO TRANSPLANT SOMTIME IN THE NEXT WEEK OR SO. I WILL TRY TO UPDATE THIS ON A WEEKLY BASIS. PLEASE FILL FREE TO POST.

I TRANSPLANTED THE TWO MYSTERY SEEDS IN TOO THERE 1 GALLON HOME FOR THE NEXT 3-4 WEEKS. THEY ARE ALL SHOWING SIGNS OF NITROGEN DEF. WHEN I TRANSPLANTED I ALSO WATERED WITH 1/4 STRENGTH FISH EMUSION (5-1-1). WILL BE TRANSPLANTING THE OTHER TWO IN THE NEXT FEW DAYS (I NEED TO GET MORE POTS). I ADDED ONE MORE 26W CFL TO THE ROOM. I NEED TO WORK ON SOME SORT OF REFLECTOR FOR THESE TO PUSH THE LIGHT DOWN TO THE PLANTS. IF ANYBODY HAS SOME IDEAS PLEASE LET ME KNOW! I HAVE 2 CLAMP LAMPS BOTH WITH A Y-SPLITER.

THANKS ROCKY, THIS IS ONLY MY SECOND GROW SO THERE IS STILL LOTS TO LEARN. I HAVE LEARNED THAT THE SOIL I AM USING DOES NOT HAVE ENOUGH NITROGEN IN THE MIX. I MAY ADD A LITTLE SOMETHING TO THE MIX NEXT TIME.

I'm on my first grow and started with Miracle grow before finding a hydro shop and switching to fox farms ocean forest. What a difference. It's amazing to me how many little tips and tricks make so much difference.

Are you PH'ing the water? I'm a firm believer in that.
 
I REALY HAVENT HAD TO PH IT BECAUSE THE WATER IS ABOUT 6.6 (PERFECT) i HAVE NOT NEEDED TO USE PH UP OR DOWN YET!

Yup Rocky I am taking advange while I can. You never know when city water will change especialy now we are getting in to the rainy season.

WELL I FINALY GOT THE TWO THAI TRANSPLANTED. I HAVE NOTICED A CHANGE IN THE TOP LEAVES ON M2. ANY IDEAS WHAT THIS MIGHT BE? THE GROWTH IS AMAZING!! I LOVE THESE PLANTS.

Here we are at day 26 from sprout for the mystery seeds and day 24 for the thai. I am liking the look of Mystery 2 and 3 they are growing extreamly fast. The thai are a few more days behind in growth. I fertilized again with the fish fert 5-1-1 they really didnt need it but I figured what the hell. I also used it a full strength since you really cant burn them will this stuff. I am debating weather or not to pinch the tops of M2 and 3 or wait till they get to the 6-7th node and then top them. What are your ideas? Will pinching the top still allow the main stem to grow? or will it stop the main stem from growing and just send out side shoots?

I don't think there is any Thai in those plants. They are all indica judging by the leaf structure in your pics. If that were Thai you'd get long thin leaves and larger internode spacing.
 
I agree with you. I dont think there is much if any Thai genes in these plants. Mendo Thai is the name of the bud it came from.
 
nice your are taller than nine but the secondary shoots are akmost cloneble so thats the diffrence between mh and cfls

I would like to hookup my 250MH but unfortunately I am stuck with a max wattage of 170. I was thinking about adding one of my 70w hps lights in there and take out 2 of the cfls. Would this be a great improvement for them?

I watered them today with plain 6.5 ph water. They are realy growing fast. They have almost dubbled in size this week. I toped the two mystery plants and I think I will pinch the tops of the Thai plants this week. I have added a 70w HPS today and took out two of the CFLs. I think I am going to have to add some fish fert the next feeding I notice a little yellowing on the lower leaves. These things are drinking a lot of water. I water M2 and M3 every other day with 250ml the other two are a little less with 250ml every third day. My plan is to take a couple cuttings from each plant in the next week or two. One cutting I will flower to determine sex.
