Hi,

I've got problems man :( I drink tons of alcohol to kill the pain and decided to start a grow, hoping to not eat my liver up and get me addicted any more etc. in the process.

I started with four Thai, they all died, too much water.

Next try I'm on now, I mixed about 75% professional potting mix with about 25% top soil, with most of the top soil in the bottom of the pot. I figured that way when I'm gone for a week at a time they'll still live fine since it holds lots of moisture. I now have two thai's, two white widows, and two sweet buds, two per pot, in three gallon pot's. I watered hard one time and haven't watered since. Let's some aqua globes in the pots but they haven't released much, and it's still pretty moist now about two weeks in.

One died, rotted below the seed shell before the leafs ever broke out of the shell. One's grown a couple very small leaf's and stopped. Leaving out a couple, I have two white widow's that grew up pretty tall and seem like they may have stunted, and the two thai's, one seems to be growing good and the other pretty good, but nothing like the time lapse video's i've seen.

I dunno, could the soil mix be that bad? I really only have one plant that's doing good. Under two 40 watt fluorescents plus next to a window so they get some sunshine every day. I'm just starting to get hopeless and wonder if any of them will make it this time either. If any of you could help a bro out, man I'd appreciate it. This alcohol is killing me but It's a lot better than the alternative of going without it. I guess I'll throw it out there, if you can spare a half till I get grown man it would mean a lot. Thx.

The soil shouldn't be the only cause of the issues you are having. It sounds like you have a drainage problem for sure. When you water does a lot of the water come out the bottom of the pot? It should. You may want to mix perlite into your soil to get better drainage and more oxygen to your roots.

What kind of lights are you using?

Are you watering with water straight out of the tap? You want to leave your water out overr night or at least verify that the water is about 6.5 ph. I water every three to 5 days and my soil is bone dry on the surface by the time I water again.

Thx. It's tap water, but water here is pretty neutral in PH. I let it sit for a few day's, but haven't really waterred them since they were sprouting.

You're right, I need to check the bottom's of the pots. THey had drainage's thing's but i've never really seen water come out. Usually lately i'll just sprinkle a few drops on they every couple day's from my hand so it doesn't come out. I just watered hard one time to help compact the soil and haven't really "watered" since. Still very moist.

Hey CollyGreen ,,I'll try to help you...firstly did you plant the seeds straight into the soil mix you described??? because if you did your babys may be over nuted (2 much food) if this is the case you could try transplanting them into small pots filled with just SEEDLING potting mix...it has no nutes in it.. once your babys are going well in them you can transplant them back to the original pots you made up....
When you transplant them in to the seedling mix you need to very gentlily wash their roots then very gentlily place them into their new home..patting them softly in and a bit of water....good luck with everything :weed:
