Medical Card ???

Hey everyone,
I just moved to Nocal about 2 months ago from the east coast. I lost my connect obviously, but thats not why I am posting. I have been fighting my anxiety, pain, insomnia and depression for years now through self medication of smoking for years now, and the occasional xanax bought off friends for years now. I have now turned to drinking to self medicate this, *not all of it, mainly just the anxiety which is my biggest problem*. I have had problems with doctors in the past with not prescribing anything for my anxiety first off, and the other problems. How should I talk to my doctor about this and get them to see Id rather be on medical marijuana after research other than taking 4 different symptoms with 4 different medications? I really hate taking pills anyways. Do doctors generally thing people in their mid 20s will abuse or are just talking to get a scrip, or a MMJ card here cause that seems to be the case from where Im from. Or am I just going to the wrong doctors? Anyone got in site to this? Any help would be greatly appreciated...

I've struggled with anxiety for years. The older I get, the more Xanax I've been able to talk them out of. I don't really even like it, but it's the only thing that helps sometimes. A lot of the time.

But I digress. Now that you are here, you can go get your card, no problem. Recs are going for about $65 these days. I got mine for having a Xanax scrip and explaining that MMJ helps me with the anxiety and sleeplessness.

ya im not tryin to get on medication like xanax anymore. I prefer not to take pills if I can because I dont trust that shit, guess im paranoid, you see all those adds like 10-15 years later about people gettin other shit from takin pills, like all those lawsuit commercials. So id much rather stick to something natural if at all possible. But thanks for the into guys and the site dvan

Getting your MMJ card here in CA is becoming somewhat of a joke. You should have no problem whatsoever getting one ESPECIALLY if you have a diagnosed condition with a prescription or doctor's note. I got mine specifically for depression and anxiety; as soon as I showed them my diagnosis receipt from my psychiastrist, it was a done deal. My little sister just likes smoking so she went in and told them she had insomnia (no diagnosis, no paperwork, only 18 years old) and they gave it to her no questions asked. This is in the San Jose area. Other, less liberal areas may be harder to convince, but 'round these parts it is very common and easy to get your card.

San Jose 420 Evaluations is very inexpensive and you should have no problem getting one there. They charge an extra $20 (optional) for the actual "card" if you want it in addition to the doctor's recommendation (which is all you legally and logistically need).

go one step further...after you get your Rx take a look at the Department of Public Health and get your Prop 215 card. If prop 19 passes the DPH card will be something that you can't get easily anymore. With the DPH card you can grow as much as medically necessary for yourself and the authorities are more easily persuaded to leave you alone when you present the card. With just an Rx you can still have your plants torn out and be hauled off to jail.
