Max yield possible in perfect conditions?

I know that you can keep in the vegetative stage for a very very very long time, and i know that the plant should double or triple in size one it goes into flower, but my question is how large could you really get a plant to grow?

Assuming that you had access to all the lighting and space and the perfect growing conditions, would you be able to grow a plant forever?

And what’s the largest yield you have gotten?

My plants are almost four feet tall and still growing. I think ten to twelve feet this year is possible, maybe even more.
if you were to bring them indoors (say a warehouse with plenty of space) before the light change do you think you would be able to keep growing them until spring comes around again?

Each tree species has a max height of generally the height it can pull water, i guess a detailed study of xylem and phloem in cannabis could give you a theoretical max height im not a scientist so can only offer this as a guess.

Yeild even harder but after one month veg and 8/9 flower if your getting over a gram a watt your probably closing in on a biological maximun from which you possibly may extrapolate some kind of curve on a graph you could get a reasonable average for every extra month of veg upto the plants maximun size as derived by internal transport as mentioned above.

You could pay me shitloads for a more precise answer but failing that 'about a pound' :-)

how much bigger do you think you can get than that? will it just grow forever?
no, genetics play a big part in it, and what conditions you give it, and how well the weather cooperates. they will get bigger than the pics i found, but usually not a lot. gravity actually comes into play past a certain point, and the plants aren't strong enough to pump sap any higher.

I told you not to share my single plant Roger.

17 ft saliva is my record thus far..... and that was the last time I measured.....pretty sure she went up another foot or so after that.....she was topped twice and heavily trained.....however she didn't listen and headed for the moon. By the time harvest came around. I damn near had a tree house of bamboo stakes and poles around her trying to keep her down.

Oh ....and she went from clone to that in 5 and a half months.

That plant is probably 50,000% bigger than what i grow, that kinda sucks :-(

Answer:

These are very common questions for new growers, so let me give you the straight answers…

How long will my marijuana plant take to grow? How long from seed to harvest?

It will be 8 weeks – 6+ Months before your plants are ready to harvest.

But that's a huge range, right?

The truth is, the time to harvest depends on your growing method, whether you grow inside or outside, your strain, and your desired yields…

  • Growing Method – soil tends to be the slowest growing medium, and hydro tends to create the fastest growth

  • Inside or Outside – In general, outdoor plants need longer to harvest than indoor plants. Outdoors, you plant in the spring, and harvest in late fall, taking 5-6 months or more. Indoors you have more control over the plant and can choose how long you want your plants to grow before harvest, and can get to harvest in just a few months. Indoors you can also start growing at any time (you don't have to wait until Spring to start growing).

  • Strain – Some strains tend to have shorter lives, and others need longer before they're ready to harvest. For example, you can choose to grow an auto-flowering strain to get to harvest in as short as 8 weeks. But many strains which originated near the equator can take months and months before their buds are ready to harvest, even when growing indoors. So strain is important when it comes to time-to-harvest.

  • Desired Yields – If you want bigger yields, you need a bigger plant, and that takes more time to grow than a small one.
