hi evrybody....i wrote masturbation as my title so people would be attracted to this thread.....truth is i need help with my grow. im growing outdoors this summer for the first time and my scenerio is this......after i germinated my seeds( paper towel method) im going to put the seeds in plastic cups with 5 small wholes poked at the bottom for good drainage and let the plant grow about 4 to 5 inches tall. (at any time u feel i am doing something that should be done a different way, please feel free to speak up) my question is should i immediatly put the cups outdoors all day until they are at the ideal height of 4 to 5 inches tall and then transpot them to the ground at my grow site/ or should i put the cups outside in the sun for a certain amount of time each day until they are ready for transporting. any thought at all on this topic would be awesome:blsmoke:

Paper towel method is good. The cup sounds fine, but as numb said: roots hate light so don't use a clear cup. For the vegetative state (the first stage), the plant wants all the light it can get, so give it as much sun as possible. You could either leave it outside all day and bring it in every night, or you could just leave it outside all the time (fine as long as your temperatures are safe and consistent). More sun/light will help it grow to 4 or 5 inches as quickly as possible. Then you should move it where ever you want it to be more permanently.

Yes rocks I usually do a build up with rocks then sand then soil....my girl has special glass hearts in with the rocks too

I've heard from experienced growers that rocks don't actually do anything, but that's a tough thing to determine, and they certainly can't hurt, so use them if you really want to. Just DON'T use rocks from outside...that'd be a bad idea because you could bring bad shit inside with them (bugs, bacteria, etc.).

I maintain about 20 potted plants at a time plus 5 large ones outside this is how I set all of my pots and I grow amazing things!!!! If I used just soil it would eventually settle into the rocks all of these plants Im referring to also get tap water and where I live calcium is a huge factor so the build up of rocks to sand gives a good aeration system for my pots, this is just how I do it, and it works for ME. and I may be bragging but I honestly think for my first pot plant in soil I have done quite well and its one of the prettiest 1st timer soil grow plants Ive seen...but Im very partial *big smiles*

Didn't mean to hate on you, man. You're right - I'm sure it works really well for some people and is very necessary for some situations, but most people don't find it necessary. So yea, I was probably too harsh about it - sand used in the right way can be helpful.
